Is Bill Bellichick solely to blame for Patriots loss?

- Worst Defense he has ever fielded as the Patriors head coach. Probably a lot due to letting players walk, trading them. It was actually quite odd seeing the Pats give up so many points every game this year.

- Josh McDaniels and Matt Patricia both did a fantastic job this season and are now both Head Coaches. So they are not to blame.

- Tom Brady had one of the greatest Super Bowl QB Performances ever. Probably would of been the greatest but without the fumble. But still Top 5.

- He benched Malcolm Butler. This game would of been closer with Butler in the game. 3 points or less. Pats perhaps could of even won IMO.

Even though the Pats were 13-3, they weren't very dominant this year. 11 wins topps if played in the NFC IMO.

As absurd as it feels to type this, Brady dropping that pass is one of the top 3 reasons why they lost, if we boil it down to individual plays (and in this close a game, we kind of have to). It happened on a 3rd and 5, and then they went for it on 4th down and were stopped at the Eagles' 35.

Pinning the blame on one person is insane. Also, not sure how you can conclude that giving up over 600 yards on defense and 40+ points is a great job by Patricia. I would say the decision to bench and not play Malcolm Butler at all was a very big reason the Patriots lost (or at least why they were so bad on defense), but ultimately it's not just one person who caused that.

Sunday February 4th at 6:30 PM he’s the greatest coach of all time. 4 hours later we have debates like this.

They were outrushed, gave up more sacks, had 0 defensive sacks, and forced what, 1 punt? That’s on their lack of execution.

If anything, Bill made great second half adjustments and his team took the lead with under ten minutes to play despite a 10 point halftime deficit.

Umm...they were ranked 5th in the league in points given up. Not sure what you are going on about here.

Just because they got head coaching jobs doesn't necessarily mean they did great. I'm not saying they didn't but that is a poor argument.

You start by stating it as fact "this game would have been closer" and then say it is only your opinion. The latter is accurate and the former is unprovable.

They were 5th in defensive PPG.

After week 4, including the Div and Conf round playoff games, they averaged 13.0 PPG.

Then the Eagles dropped 41 on them.

i think that while bill didn't have his best game it's fallacious to say it's his fault

it is not his fault his septuagenarian of a quarterback couldn't catch a pass, nor is it his fault that their normally incredible special teams botched a snap-hold-FG, and so on and so on, the players just couldn't execute in clutch moments

Maybe what I meant to say is teams driving so effortlessly on them. Red Zone D was good.
