FITZPATRICK, MINKAH DB Alabama SEC - - The best of the class, that we won't get a sniff at drafting 28.

ALLEN, MARCUS S Penn St. Big Ten - - Great talent and Steelers type of Safety. Curious as to the cone drill and his 40 time.

APKE, TROY S Penn St. Big Ten

BATES, JESSIE S Wake Forest ACC

BLANDING, QUIN S Virginia ACC - - Solid prospect

CHANDLER, SEAN S Temple AAC - -Temple tough. I want to see how he looks in drills as well.

CRUIKSHANK, DANE S Arizona Pac-12

EDMUNDS, TERRELL S Virginia Tech ACC - - Physical specimen.  I like Tech defenders and special teams guys.

ELLIOTT, DESHON S Texas Big 12

FLOWERS, TRE S Oklahoma St. Big 12

HARRIS, MARCELL S Florida SEC

HARRISON, RONNIE S Alabama SEC

IGWEBUIKE, GODWIN S Northwestern Big Ten - - Intriguing prospect

JAMERSON, NATRELL S Wisconsin Big Ten

JAMES, DERWIN S Florida St. ACC

KALU, JOSHUA S Nebraska Big Ten

KELLY, KAMERON S San Diego St. Mountain West

NEAL, SIRAN S Jacksonville St. Ohio Valley

REDFIELD, MAX S Indiana (PA) Pennsylvania State

REID, JUSTIN S Stanford Pac-12 - - We seem to like the Stanford guys.

ROBERTS, STEPHEN S Auburn SEC

SANDERS, DOMINCIK S Georgia SEC - - Speed and footwork questions for me.

SMITH, VAN S Clemson ACC

WALKER, TREY S Louisiana-Lafayette Sun Belt

WATTS, ARMANI S Texas A&M SEC

WEBB, DAMON S Ohio St. Big Ten

WHITE, KYZIR S West Virginia Big 12 - - More of an in the box type safety, but I think he would be good in our system.  He has pass coverage skills and with coaching could have a similar impact of Cam Chancellor in terms of style.

WHITEHEAD, JORDAN S Pittsburgh ACC - - Had some discipline and maturity problems in the past, but has a lot of potential. Not sure he would make a big impact year one, but could develop into one of the better free safeties in the league within three or four years.

Thanks for the list.  There are a few guys I have seen, read about or know of and others I have no knowledge of. It will be fun researching some of these guys play.

Can someone sell me on Marcus Allen? He was a guy I loved coming into the season as a PSU fan, but as the season went on, I was just tremendously unimpressed with him. Did I just have too high of expectations or is he just meh.

I’m not a PSU guy but what I can say is that Allen is fearless as a defender in making the tackles.  His form is really good for the most part.  Doesn’t always try to blow up the runner but gets him to the ground quickly.  Most times he initiates contact and no more forward movement.  He is not a playmaker but always hustles to the ball which will hopefully lead to TOs.  Not the best against the pass and is more of a SS than FS.  Maybe he can grow into being a more balanced player but right now he is a run stuffer and mid to late round guy imo.
