Keenum costs $15 m in cap space, let’s not act like he’s cheap and he’s been awful despite having one of the most talented WR corps in the NFL.

Bradford is getting $20 million to people watch from the sidelines.

  1. Arizona can cut Bradford after this season for just $5M in dead cap space in 2019.
  2. Arizona has their quarterback of the future in place and learning.
  3. Denver can cut Keenum after this season for just $10M in dead cap space in 2019.
  4. Neither Arizona nor Denver gave up a draft pick to sign either gentleman.
  5. Neither Arizona nor Denver gave up a player to sign either gentleman.

So, let's not act like it's the equivalent in price.

We will get a 3rd round comp pick for Cousins, so that makes the trade for Alex Smith just Alex for Fuller straight up.

  1. No, the Redskins will get a pick a year after they let him walk. Time value of money means it is not equivalent.
  2. At best, a compensatory pick is pick #33 in the round. So, even if it were done in the same year, it would have been a less valuable pick by half a round.

Now we’re bragging about the third round compensation pick we get in exchange for one of the leagues better QBs. Only ending up with a very late third for Kirk is a loss for this team. It’s almost unprecedented to get that little value in return.

Yup. You brought me around to it prior to last season. And I agreed that we absolutely should've traded him for a 1st to someone. Getting a 3rd is okay. But its no where near the compensation we could've gotten for him. And who knows, maybe we would've been able to go up and get Darnold (or have done badly enough with McCoy to get him with our own pick)?

The best part is watching the Giants suck on purpose and now they’ll have Hebert, Barkley and OBJ. And then they’ll kick our butts again for the next 10 years. The front office here just never gets it.

Correct. Meanwhile, you, me, et al have been advocating for us to do exactly that. I guess its why the Jints have 2 SB wins since 2000 (really in the last decade) and we have...well, Bruce.

The current front office had to make the move they did because they had to save their jobs.  This is why we should have fired them and moved on completely if we were moving on from Cousins.

Cousins is an $84 million dollar loser. Beat a bad team at home by 10 that we beat on the road by 18. Threw an interception and gave up a T D on yet another fumble . AND did a really stupid T D dance .

He's basically 3-2 on a team touted to be much better. A Smith is 3-2 on the Redskins.

Alex Smith is a $90 mil/3rd round pick/CB Fuller loser.

$90 for 5 years right . not apples vs apples .

It was a $92.6 mil 4 year extension.  He actually costs us $111 mil over 5 years.  Plus he cost us a 3rd round pick.  Plus he cost us CB Fuller.  And he isn't very good.

And is doing it without a running game. Smith actually NEEDS the running game to even have a good game

And, you're still equating wins/losses as a individual stat for QB's. Which IMHO is wrong.

Some individual stats for you then since you want to compare both QBs (this year):

Yards/Game (Rank)

Cousins = 320.2 (6)

Smith = 241 (24)

Completion % >100 attempts (Rank)

Cousins = 71.2 (3)

Smith = 64.3 (29)

Attempts/Game (Rank)

Cousins = 43.3 (4)

Smith = 34.2 (20)

TDs Passing/Game(Rank

Cousins = 2 (8)

Smith = 1.2 (26)

INTs / Game >100 Attempts(Rank

Cousins = .5 (6)

Smith = .4 (5)

Fumbles / Game >100 Dropbacks

Cousins = 1 (5 lost)

Smith = 1 (1 lost)

Rating >100 Attempts (Rank)

Cousins = 102.7 (9)

Smith = 91.9 (16)

2 more TEAM stats this time

Rushing Rank

Washington = 12th

Minnesota = 28th

Passing Rank

Washington = 24th

Minnesota = 7th

That's not all guaranteed money .

Washington 3 Wins

Minnesota 3 wins

All that matters . The Vikings were on the cusp of the SuperBowl and the Redskins were projected to win 2 games. I want to give the full 16 game season and see the outcomes.

FTFY

As for the rest, fair enough. I would love to see them too. But it won't stop us all from talking about it week to week
