No, the Redskins will get a pick a year after they let him walk. Time value of money means it is not equivalent. At best, a compensatory pick is pick #33 in the round. And I agreed that we absolutely should've traded him for a 1st to someone. Getting a 3rd is okay. But its no where near the compensation we could've gotten for him.
