Michigan opened up the offense quite a bit with McNamara which begs the question how much trust they had in Milton to execute certain concepts 

Why I would be optimistic:

He is a relatively good athlete, might make some plays with his feet

There will be some WOW throws that make you see the NFL potential 

His thumb was hurt last year, so maybe the accuracy gets better?

Pretty much. I also think that Heupel's track record being better recently probably means they see something workable. The lows are very low, though. It did feel like Michigan was holding back on some things they ended up doing with Cade pretty quickly.
