Free Agency Targets

Obviously there's number of defensive holes that need to be plugged, without considering who might be leaving and another hole on offense if some of our players leave (Solder, Lewis, Waddle, Fleming etc). Looking at the list of free agents, who do you think might offer good value for money?

Just looking at the defense, here's the list of available players at positions of need:

Edge Defenders

DeMarcus Lawrence (25) - The big name in this group after his recent production, likely to be too pricey for us to make a run at
Ezekiel Ansah (28) - Career didn't take the next step as expected, it would be nice - but he's missed to many games to be worth the price tag
Julius Peppers (38) 
Adrian Clayborn (29) - Everything BB seems to like in an edge defender, won't get you 10 sacks - but is a quality edge setter
Trent Murphy (27) - He's basically done nothing in Washington as an edge rusher, but could be a do-it-all master of none defender that flourishes in NE
Junior Galette (30) 
Connor Barwin (31) 
William Hayes (32) 
Tank Carradine (28) - Big promise early in his career, derailed by injuries and being played out of position
Aaron Lynch (25)  - Threatened to become a big time player for a while back there, at least has the tools to be a sack threat
Denico Autry (27) 
Alex Okafor (27)  - Looked great in New Orleans before he got hurt, could be a bit of a late bloomer. Wouldn't throw money at him, but he's a better options than most

Bennie Logan (28) - A run stopper, but little else - not that we don't need those
Star Lotulelei (28)  - Hasn't lived up to the top 10 pick and is no more than a run stopper inside, but has an excellent calibre at least
DaQuan Jones (26) - Had a nice final year in Tennessee, might have something more to show

There's plenty to choose from but the only notable players I think they go for are Zach Brown, Trent Murphy, Adrian Clayborn, Bennie Logan and Ross Cockrell. The third grouping under Defensive Linemen --any of those guys could be signed for cheap and the cornerbacks are mostly underwhelming or not worth more than a top three round draft pick at the position.

On offense, the tight ends are plentiful with Jimmy Graham, Tyler Eifert, and Trey Burton. Plus lower end guys like Zach Line and Nick O'Leary intrigue me. Running backs are good this year, I like Kerwynn Williams and Benny Cunningham there, or LeVeon Bell of course if he's interested. Recievers are good to choose from too but not great. Should see some new players though definitely after free agency is over.

Compared to Bradham, Demario Davis has a higher PFF score and his market value according to Spotrac is a bit cheaper.

Beau Allen was pretty hyped last year in free agency.  Did he suck or something in 2017?

Don't know if we would need guys like Cunningham or Williams.  With White already signed, we just need some form of powerback or a guy that can take 10+ carries per game.

Denver is apparently going to cut C.J. Anderson, who the Patriots showed interest in 2016.

CJ Anderson would be a good target, though, I'd be worried about our line not creating enough space for him to get rolling downhill.  Our downhill RB's whether it be due to their style or gameplan, really like to smash into the LOS....

If we're going to have a RB keep smashing into the LOS I'd much rather keep Gilislee who has good straight line speed + one cut/slashing ability.

He's also definitely not worth anything near what Denver was paying him so, it'll be tough to get him if he isn't down for a paycut...Unless BB decides to invest some solid cap space into RB's again like he did with Gillislee + Burkhead

Trey Burton needs to be a target if Martellus Bennett isn't in the team's long-term plans. He's extremely versatile and could realistically play the Aaron Hernandez role from before he got all murdery.

He was a rotational piece on the very deep Philadelphia line. But I can only repeat myself: he is a very solid starting caliber player anywhere else. Including the Patriots...

I would've also liked Bradham during the season, I don't think he's worth it at his current price. Same with Zach Brown. Pipe dream would be poaching Hicks, but there's zero chance for that. As less injury-prone, but unspectacular options I'd go for D. Davis or Minter.

On the edge, maybe a final kick on the tires with Brooks is worth it. I don't think Murphy does nothing as a pass rusher, but depending on the health and progression of Wise, I think he could end up as a lateral move.

Exactly what i think Williams would do is be the ten carry guy. Cunningham replace burkhead/gillislee in the redzone and situational

Graham would take up too much cap room and isn't nearly the player he used to be.
