FanSpeak Mock Drafts

Recommended Posts

I know, I know ... but it's fun ...

I went out to do a defense-centric mock, and ended up with this. Justtoo much talent on offense to pass up.
Would require a focus on DL and probably S in free agency. But replacing one Longhorn with another ... priceless!

54: R2P22  WILL HERNANDEZ UTEP - too good a value to pass up
78: R3P14 LB MALIK JEFFERSON TEXAS - Texas is back!
86: R3P22 TE DALLAS GOEDERT S DAKOTA ST - talk about 3TE sets
124: R4P22 LB UCHENNA NWOSU USC - Tamba's replacement? Build and playing style seem similar
199: R6P22 WR JAKE WIENEKE S DAKOTA ST
211: R6P34 QB NIC SHIMONEK TEXAS TECH - considered a dedicated backup á la Bray
233: R7P15 DL NIFAE LEALAO VANDERBILT - double crapshot at DL, may be one is the next Nacho?
243: R7P25 DL GREG GILMORE LSU

On a draft related topic, what do you think our Compensatory Pick for Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles should or projected to be? I've read 5-6th?

54: R2P22 LB MALIK JEFFERSON TEXAS (ILB that can fly around the field, DJ ver 2.0)

78: R3P14 WR EQUANIMEOUS ST. BROWN NOTRE DAME (#3 WR, big, polished, fast)

86: R3P22 TE HAYDEN HURST SOUTH CAROLINA (#1 TE, wow, un-guardable 2 TE set)

124: R4P22 S JUSTIN REID STANFORD (#3 S, can play FS/SS, tackles, smart)

199: R6P22 P MICHAEL DICKSON TEXAS (why not replace Colquit with nations best punter?)

211: R6P34 DL B.J. HILL NORTH CAROLINA STATE (Thick, solid NT, requires a double team)

233: R7P15 RB ITO SMITH SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI (size, speed, catch out of backfield)

243: R7P25 QB CHASE LITTON MARSHALL (Project #3 QB)

Overall, I think I addressed position needs on defense and brought in quality highly rated talent.

I know its just fantasy, but fun

was supposed to be a 6th, SB MVP may push it to 5th

I'll make it easy. Just draft all SEC players, or even just Alabama players. We would have been better off with many of our previous drafts.

I feel like great QBs don't really come from the SEC though.

Cam Newton & Matt Stafford Being the exceptions, and we didn't have the first pick those years.
