Re-Sign ::
Marcus Martin :: Still extremely young especially for the amount of NFL experience under his belt. Will provide top quality depth.

Sign ::
Veteran CB :: There are so many options I could not decide on a name until we get more rumors rolling. So you pick :: Kyle Fuller, Malcolm Butler, Trumaine Johnson, Prince Amukamara, Darqueze Dennard, E.J. Gaines and Aaron Colvin could all start. I would look out for E.J. Gaines who has been with Greg Williams also Phillip Gaines as a depth signing because he was a 3rd round pick by Dorsey.

A.J. McCarron :: Hue Jackson is going to give his boy a shot and John Dorsey agrees to see how things play out while his drafted QB develops on the bench and is not forced into action right away. He will not break the bank and right now money is the last of of worries.

Tyler Eifert TE :: Veteran target who can be a reliable #2. Will sign a 1 year prove it deal to rebuild his value and because of familiratiy with Hue.

Terrelle Pryor WR ::  Veteran target who is also coming back because of his relationship with Hue and wanting to rebuild his value.

Jerick McKinnon RB :: Kind of a head scratcher but the FO wants a guy who can start if a rookie RB is not ready and Isaiah didn't want to come back. He is good in pass protection and excellent out of the back field. Haley can use him and Duke in a multitude of ways like New England and Lewis/Burkhead

Trade ::
4th to Philadelphia for Malcolm Jenkins :: Philadelphia needs to clear cap space just to be able to keep their core together. They get a draft pick for a player on the back 9 of his career enabling to keep their young core together. Cleveland gets a veteran leader at FS

Draft ::

1-1. Cleveland :: Sam Darnold QB USC
No suprised here as Cleveland takes a QB with the 1st pick to finally end the years of terrible QB play for the Browns.

1-2. New YorkG :: Josh Rosen QB UCLA
1-3. Indianapolis :: Bradley Chubb DE North Carolina State

With the Browns back on the clock many fans are chanting SA-QUON! SA-QUON! SA-QUON! They cannot believe it actually happened. The top QB and the top play maker in the draft....but spirts are crushed and mayhem ensues when less than two minutes on the clock it is announced that Cleveland has traded the rights to Sam Darnold to the New YorkJ for pick #6, #37 and a 2019 1st and 3rd. Where did that come from? And what do the Browns for for QB now?

1-4. Cleveland(Houston) :: Baker Mayfield QB Oklahoma 6'1 220
We quickly learn that this was a deal that was in place pre draft if things fell the right way. Cleveland brass had Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield rated almost dead even while New York coveted Sam Darnold. The trade was agreed apoun if Baker Mayfield were to make it to #4 if he did not then Cleveland would keep Sam Darnold. With the two being even it was the chance to add so many draft assets that enticed Cleveland to make the call.

1-5. Denver :: Tremaine Edmunds LB Virginia Tech

And the Browns are back on the clock and the roller coaster continues this time it is back at a peak with Saquon Barkley back on the board and Cleveland faithfull spirts are back at a high possibly landing two of the best offensive playmakers in the draft. And then it is traded yet again and this time it is over for good. San Francisco gives up a 2019 2nd rounder to move up 3 spots to take Barkley to pair with Jimmy G.

1-6. San Francisco(Cle through NYJ) :: Saquon Barkley RB Penn State
1-7. Tampa Bay :: Minkah Fitzpatrick DB Alabama
1-8. Chicago :: Calvin Ridley WR Alabama

Cleveland is back on the clock and this time Browns fans have no clue what to think. They don't know whether to be excited to ticked off. Many are already calling for Dorsey's head because he passed on Barkley. The media is doing what the media does and fueling the fire by critiziing every more they have made. Cleveland finally stays pat and makes the pick and wins a few fans back with the hometown pick.

1-9. Cleveland(San Francisco) :: Denzel Ward CB Ohio State 5'11 191

Denzel Ward is an elite mirroring man to man corner. He wins with his eyes and feet so his lack of size is of no worry. You don't really need to be strong with a powerful jam win you mirror step and cutoff like Denzel Ward. He is still young and learning as well. He will take our pass defense to another level and allow our FS to move a lot closer to the ball.

The draft continues to roll along and there are picks that the media and fans will continue to say would have been better for the Browns at 9 and many question if the Browns will ever get it right. Cleveland then trades back up to #23 with Los Angeles Rams giving up picks #33 and #65

1-23. Cleveland(Los AngelesR) :: Harold Landry DE Boston College 6'2 250

John Dorsey and company see and explosive pass rusher who can learn better techniques and run stopping skills while he plays behind Ogbah and Garrett in a pass rushing role only his rookie season but they also see elite explosive traits that could lead to a 10+ sack a year guy and they decide the pick and trade is more than worth the risk.

2-35. Ronald Jones RB USC 6'0 201
-On the small side but he hard to bring down. He bounces off of would be tacklers and immediately burst back to full speed with no wasted movement in between cuts. He is an excellent inside runner for a back of his size. He is the anti-Saquan Barkley who is not great inside despite his massive 230 pound build.

2-37. Michael Gallup WR Colorado State 6'0 200
-Great feet and route stemming skills. He creates seperation at the line and can beat man coverage with good footwork. He is hard to bring down once the ball is in his hands and will get plenty of YAC.

2-64. M.J. Stewart CB North Carolina 5'11 198
-Violent competitor who will take on blocks with athority and set the edge like few DBs in the NFL can. He would be a great force defender or blitzer in the NFL from a nickle role. He is physically in coverage and can run with receivers as well. All around football player

4. Trayvon Henderson FS Hawaii 6'0 190
-Great range and burst to break up passes thrown anywhere on the field. Has some injury concerns and plenty to work on but this kid could be a pro bowler especially with a year or two to learn behind Malcolm Jenkins which is exactly why you makes trades or signings for quality veterans.

5. Greg Senat OT Wagner 6'8 291
-Physically looks the part and has been impressive in the offseason. Has a lot to learn about football and will need to get stronger but could be a massive steal especially in a class that lacks a single OT with truly elite franchise LT skills.

5. Dante Pettis WR Washington 6'0 194
-Shifty WR who can makes plays in space. Could be used on rub routes and screens while he developes a more all around games. He will instantly impact special teams as he is a great return man.

6. Ade Aruna DE Tulane 6'6 265
-Physical freak with tons of upside. Has only been playing the game a few years. We have plenty of DEs to allow him to develope in practice for at least 2 years before being counted on for any kind of role. If he shows out and looks better sooner then great.

7. Fred Warner LB BYU 6'3 230

Appreciate the effort…stopped reading when Darnold was not a Brown.

Ugg Madden ruined football.

What does Madden have to do with anything? Super Tecmo Bowl ruined football when everyone realized you could just zigzag out of tackles. Hasn't been the same since.

I love this draft.  QB1/CB1/arguably DE1.  This is the way to get the QB at 4 without the risk that you lose.  Not a huge McCarrron/McKinnon fan, but I would live with that for this haul.

Yeah, this is an interesting twist on making sure you get your QB while also having the leverage to get a haul for another QB. I don't know how realistic it is, but this is worth the read just to think through how something like that would work.
