I don’t dislike it. I’d love for those first 4 UCLA. So you think Hercules is a pass rusher?

He is almost unblockable man on man.  I want to see him test but as a football player he passes my test.  I want to see how explosive his numbers compare to edge rushers from previous drafts.  Can he move in space as well as he moves in a booth.  Can he drop in coverage?  Those are things I want to see him do.  What do you think of him?

From a position perspective, I love it.

I like Evans and Elliot as well.  However, even though Evans would technically replace Shazier, he doesnt really replace his skillset....so it would be nice to get a complementary ILB in free agency, and reduce VW back to being a depth player.

Overall, I would definitely be happy with it,

A lot to like about Deshon Elliot...he is high on my radar.

I dont see Evans as high as everyone else is pumping him up. I like him just more like a 2nd rounder, good player but I haven't seen great yet. I typically try to watch early games and look for improvement to build. Dont know that I have Championship included yet.

Mata'afa very likely will be a steal for whoever figures out and commits to how they want to use him. He could rise quite a bit after the combine if he shows well in drops...those drill may mean the most for him of anybody in the draft.

I dont think he is special either, but there arent going to be any special talents at 28.

Like Ive said before....I think there are 10-12 clear cut first round guys....and then the next 40-50 players are pretty interchangable between the mid first and entire second round.    Obviously, thats just my personal view....but even if I dont love Evans, there likely wont be any NOTABLY better players....although thats clearly up for debate.

Someone, I think @FourThreeMafia mentioned that Evans reminded them of Timmons.  Evans played one year at MLB and was an OLB before switching last year.  He is just hitting his prime and will get better.  Evans will be a monster within two years!

Actually, I think that was @wwhickok that initially said that, although I agree they are similar in ways.

I dont think Evans reminds me of Timmons, actually im reminded a little of Potsie as the one thing I really do like about him is his blitzing style. When he comes in he crashes through whatever is in his way, big ups from me when I see that from a linebacker especially when they are capable of pushing that pocket no matter what. Its not always about the sack, its about the disruption. I dont quite disagree with you 43 in regards to his value I suppose, when I think about it, ultimately I see him as about a top 40-55 pick as well, currently at 57 with one more game Id like to watch.

There was somebody that reminded a little of Timmons in that they had little to no instincts, I dont recall. It could've been Roquan Smith , who for the life of me I am having trouble seeing what all the hype is about. He's hardly ever in position, missed so many tackles, and struggled to shed blocks or even just stay out of the garbage. I get potential, but its not off the charts potential by any means and the production based on the 4-5 games I've seen is not even close.  I think Smith might have more success in space outside as a WLB.

Leighton Vander Esch is a very good linebacker. Not sure how athletic he is, but that guy seems to have Xray vision because he sees right thru all the blockers and doesn't lose sight of where he wants to go.

I like Edmunds. He has some explosive traits and is worthy of first round consideration, he's also decently instinctual.

Malik Jefferson is hard to watch inside, like Smith, he loves to get caught up in everything except the ball carrier. He doesnt seem anywhere near 6'3".

I like Jewell , Instincts are off the charts. I have to break down more of his tape though to give a good grade/evaluation, but it is fun to watch him.

If Jack Cichy is available at the top of the 5th , Id run the card up there.

It's not as much that I think Evans is special as much as he is a really good fit for our defense.

Evans plays a nasty violent brand of football that I love.  Not just the highlights but he would ragdoll OL at his size.  Once he squares the runner up, there is no more forward progress.  Another guy that I'm high on, Nick Deluca, is good against blocks but will overrun too many plays and miss too many tackles because his legs aren't under him.  Evans needs more refining in the passing defense area anything coming near his area is in for some hurt.

He is the sexy pick right now. I think many of us (me included have him in one of our mocks).  I am also exploring other candidates for the ILB position in case we don't get to draft a player like Evans or Smith from UGA whom I also like.

RD2.Texas S Deshon Elliott 6'2 202: Mike Mitchell's replacement.

I have seen this name a few times. Don't know as much about him as others, but  I believe we need to draft another safety or two and may even try to grab a player like Tre' Boston in free agency if we can rework some contracts and have Bell signed.

RD3.WV Safety Kyzir White 6'2 218: Striker.  Good ball skills.  Challenge Elliott for playing time.  Steelers played with 3 Safeties active last year which is a big risk.

I really like Kyzir.  He is in many ways Davis 2.0 from a versatile standpoint, but a much better tackler and would be better in the box.  This would allow us to play three Safeties efficiently .  I also picked White in my first mock.

RD5.Washington St OLB Hercules Mata'afa 6'2 255: Insane quickness and solid pass rusher. Challenges Bud Dupree for playing time.  Situational rusher.

I don't know much about this kid, but we had another bad Ma'Afala at RB (I know his name is different Mata'afa). I would like to watch some regular game tape on him and not just highlights. Big boy, but moves in style like Debo.

RD5.Grambling St RB Martez Carter 5'8 210: Situational RB.  Kick and punt returner.

God we are pretty bad at finding kick returners.  We are as bad at finding them as we are CB's it seems. We shot a blank with drafting the straight line fast and very little moves Dri Archer.

RD7.Rutgers WR/Specialist Janarion Grant 5'10 178: Fast and shifty.  Immediate starter at Returner and reserve WR.

If we can't pick one, try picking two? LOL So far we have 1 ILB, 1 OLB/Edge, 2 PR/KR, and 2 Safeties.

RD7.Purdue DT Eddy Wilson 6'4 300: Depth along the DL.  Has starter type abilities and plays hard every play.

More of a DT than a true NG.  I am not sure that this helps to solve our problems on base downs.  As was pointed out in another post, are in base

35% of the time. He is too small to play NG, but seems like he could possibly fit at DT in the nickel.

Solid effort and I can't argue with a guy who likes similar players as I do.  I am curious about ILB prospect in rounds two and three.
