what's the real issue? Is he a bad student?

nah he makes good grades.  He has a high GPA.  The real issue is the ACT test.  He will have to retake it if his score from the first one he took is bad. Long story short is that he might count against a school's ship limit but he wont sign the LOI (even if Georgia lets him out of it).  A&M is going after him the hardest.  LSU would still take him but they are also focused on GT RB commit  Jahmyr Gibbs.  It's going to be interesting to see how this develops.

Hope he gets his problems straightened out even if he has to go Juco for a year. Would hate to see him waste his talents.

Wonder how much longer ACT and SAT scores will be what holds kids back. A lot of universities are already allowing students to check a box to say they took the test but aren't releasing their scores to allow those that aren't good test takers get in based on other merits. Surprised athletic departments haven't pushed that through for sports ball players.

A&M mod is reporting that he can't sign a second LOI and will just enroll somewhere however he does not rule out a darkhorse coming in and pulling off a surprise it appears.

If the LOI was indeed signed, it's up to Georgia to let him out of it, otherwise no other schools can contact him.  If he is released from the LOI, he has to wait until February 5th to sign.

Apparently he was suspended once for two games for violating team rules, and missed a championship game for not giving up his cell phone the night before?  Not buying that.

He was suspended because he fought his HS coach. Georgia released him from the LOI already so he could just enroll somewhere either now for spring and for summer semester
