My problem with Bridgewater is the reports from Vikings players that Teddy isn't the same player he was before the injury. The Vikings, who need a QB, have completely given up on him. That is alarming to me.

Honestly, he wasn't anything special even before the injury.  He was solid enough, but hardly a gamechanger.

It is starting to look like Miami is going to be out of the QB race in the first round. With rumors that the Bills, and Jets are looking to trade up, and the Broncos also looking for a QB, the only way Miami is getting a QB is to give up a kings ransom. The better bet is for Miami to trade back in the first round, and grab a QB like Lamar Jackson, while picking up an extra second or third round pick.

Think the Cards may be in play for Jackson. Not sold on him myself.

Or instead, stay put at 11 and scoop up the premium talent that falls due to what looks to be a crazy run on QBs before then.  That's what a smart franchise would do.  So, naturally, that means we'll trade back, pick up a 4th rounder, and draft Jackson.  Uggh.

That is the only thing that makes sense, unless Miami plans on sending a multiple picks to the Eagles for Foles. Miami made a statement that they wanted a solid backup option for Tannehill, well all of the marginal QB's have signed with other teams. A.J. McCarron is the only one left. So Miami is going to have to grab a QB. Experts are predicting that Lamar Jackson will go in the back of the 1st round, with the Cardinals, Steelers, Saints, and Patriots all looking to grab a young QB. In the second round, only Mason Rudolph is appealing, and any teams that missed in the first will be trading up in the second to land him. Once you get beyond Mason, there is a drop in talent. The third round is probably where Mike White goes, Kyle Lauletta, who both looked decent at the combine. The rest of the QB's looked shaky at the combine, with Chase Litton, Nic Shimonek, Luke Falk rounding out the bottom.

So either Miami makes a run at a QB in the first round, or we ride with Tannehill, and a late middle round QB we hope is a diamond in the rough.

I'd much rather sign McCarron as a backup to Tannehill than give up picks for Foles.

Well, Disney World isn't far from Miami so Foles may like the Dolphins...

They look shaky at the.. combine? K? How did they look on film? That's what I care about (and also couldn't answer).

Without a doubt, although he's going to want too much money and likely at least a borderline shot at starting.

Agreed, but the statement is probably correct about them being shaky.  The drop off in talent after Rudolph is fairly ginormous.

Well, dreaming about QBs was fun, but the Bills have destroyed Miami's chances of drafting a potential franchise QB. The Phins cancelled the wine and dine with Baker Mayfield. Sources within the team firmly believe that he will not make it past the Jets, and the Dolphins do not have the draft capital to trade up. Miami has decided to stay with Tannehill, and have restructured his contract. The Dolphins are negotiating with get this, Chad Henne, to be the backup QB to Tannehill. The Dolphins will concentrate on BPA, and are not expected to draft a QB in anything but the back of the draft.

They weren't getting one at 11 anyway, but the meeting with Mayfield was cancelled today because all the FO brass is down in Florida to meet with Josh Sitton.  That's apparently why Tanny was restructured, and they aren't letting Sitton leave without a contract.  The Mayfield wine and dine is being reschedule.

Why are you acting like you're an insider of some sorts lmao. You should post links when you bring up stuff like that. I get that they cancelled the Mayfield dinner but you're just jumping to conclusions worse than my gf. Tannehill was always going to stay, regardless of who we pick in the 1st round. They are looking for a guy that can sit behind him and take over when ready. . Not a fan of contact with Henne obviously but I'm glad they're covering all the bases as Barry Jackson said.

You can go into draft hoping to find your No. 2 QB there, but you can't go into draft assuming you will find your No. 2 QB there. So that's why communication between Henne camp/Fins; might lead somewhere, might not. But Fins didn't tender Fales. AJ McCarron available but pricey.

New tweet by Jackson:

Quick things:G Josh Sitton, visiting Dolphins tonight (@ArmandoSalguero has been on this) would give Dolphins 4-time Pro Bowler at G (most recently in 2016)..Dolphins/Mayfield want to/working to reschedule canceled dinner (plus a private Dolphins workout) later in March in Norman

Even if they reschedule, Baker isn't making it to Miami. The backup QB market is so bad that the Dolphins might have to outbid the Titans to even sign Henne. I think they should just roll with David Fales and Brandon Doughty, and see what happens in the back of the draft. If Tannehill goes down again, our season is over anyway, even if they sign Henne.
