Andrew Nembhard already announced that he's returning to school. Their recruiting class is stacked: • Chet Holmgren 7'0" 200 5* C (#1 C, #1 Overall) • Hunter Sallis 6'5" 180 5* CG (#2 CG, #6 Overall) • Kaden Perry 6'8" 210 4* C (#6 C, #53 Overall) • Fanbo Zeng 6'9" 190 4* PF (#16 PF, #72 Overall) Then they have returning sophomores in Julian Strawther, Dominick Harris, and Ben Gregg who didn't play a ton last year but all came into the program as top 100 4* recruits in the 2020 class. And Anton Watson should step into a bigger role as a Jr who was a former 4* top 50 recruit in the 2019 class. Will be interesting to see how Tommy Lloyd's departure effects their recruiting, he was one of the main reasons they've landed a ton of guys over the past few years. In previous years they've been able to make deep runs by finding diamonds in the rough, particularly foreign born recruits. But over the last few recruiting cycles they've definitely turned it up a notch. In 2019 they had the #13 ranked class with four top 100 4* recruits. In 2020 they had the #6 ranked class with four top 100 recruits including 1 5*, 3 4*, and a transfer in Nembhard who was a former 5* recruit. I like our team heading into next season though, expecting big sophomore leaps from Roach/Williams. Banchero should be one of the favorites for ACC POY and Griffin is probably the most underrated recruit in the class. The thing I like most about our team next year is that we project to be a very good defensive team that will be able to switch on P-N-R.
