And he was just hired by Texas and is one of the highest paid coaches in college basketball. you act like sampson wasnt doing good things at oklahoma and indiana. im willing to bet if sampson was coaching tech he would be doing the same thing beard did there. Sampson was solid at Oklahoma and then didn't do much at Indiana before he was forced to resign. And probably not, Texas Tech had 4 tournament wins in the 40 seasons before Beard took over the program. Which is honestly pretty incredible considering the coaches they had during that time span. Bob Knight, one of the top 5 greatest college basketball coaches ever, won 3 NCAA tournament games in 7 years at Tech. Then his son took over, followed by Billy Gillispie who was the head coach at Kentucky and Tubby Smith who was also coached at Kentucky and won a national championship there. Beard completely changed the program at Texas Tech. They went from a school that didn't care about basketball to paying him $4.5M a year and building a $32M basketball facility. Texas paid Tech $4M to even be able to hire him and now he's the 4th highest paid coach in college basketball at $5M/yr.

Could've, should've, would've. Texas just paid $10M to hire Beard.

NYRaider
The deadline to register for classes at Memphis is August 26th. Reportedly Emoni Bates has a University of Memphis email address listed in their directory now. @Bullet Club @beekay414 @Texansfan713 @Sllim Pickens Quote So, when an email address for 5-star guard Emoni Bates showed up in the University of Memphis' system, it left some wondering whether it was an inadvertent indication of Bates' decision to play basketball for the Tigers. What does Bates having a Memphis email address mean? In short, anyone who is admitted to the school receives a university email address, but it does not necessarily mean that person is officially enrolled, according to a source with knowledge of the process. The source requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. The fall semester began at Memphis on Monday. The deadline for late registration is Thursday.
