I would hope so.  It was very out of character for Ted to sign so many FA.  I wouldn't really count Kendricks, House, and RFJ as they were all cut by their previous teams and don't count towards the compensatory picks.

On top of that didn't AG just say we are carrying 10 mil in space than normal still....freaking Ted man.

Maybe we're saving some of that money to re-sign Burnett, Taylor, Adams, Linsley or maybe even Rodgers.

Aye. It just seemed like we said that for the guys who just left...Then we spent some. But still a bunch left.

I'm not upset or anything. I just didn't know we had more than usual.

the money has to be there for a reason. if 18M just sits there all year we have every reason to be upset

Is there any reason to believe that we're really going to roll over $18M?  That $10M (after the $8M is saved for roll over purposes) will likely go towards extensions.  Corey Linsley and Davante Adams are both pending FA who are coming off their rookie contracts.  And you've got veterans like Davon House, Morgan Burnett, Lane Taylor, etc. who could all be in line for extensions as well.  Given Ted's history, it's highly unlikely he sits on all that money.

Pretty sure that TT and Russ Ball have a plan in place for the $18M.   Likely not just sitting under TT mattress.

As many have noted, the extensions that some players are in line for are the very likely usage of that $$

With the roll over, it's not like it was before the new CBA.

In the old CBA, you throw all of the early hit onto that year's salary and it saved you money in the following years because there was no roll over. If you do that this year, you're just rolling over less into next year. It doesn't save you anything. Maybe a little bit in the amount of dead money if you were to cut somebody later on, but it's not the big advantage that it was.

Is it this site or the old one, where someone said you get bonus money for next year for cap leftover? Any truth to this?

Are you talking about the cap roll over?

If so, then yes. Any cap that is unused this year will roll over into next year.

You don't get a percentage of that as extra though. The roll over isn't a bank where you make 2% on it.
