Lengthy article on Morgan Burnett, talks about all he brings to the table and how he'd like to finish in GB.

http://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2017/08/23/morgan-burnett-true-safety-valve-packers-defense/104897742/

"He’s played both safety positions during his first seven years in Green Bay and recently added inside linebacker to the countless hats he wears.

He can defend receivers in the slot or battle guards in the hole. He can blitz off the edge, defend the deep middle and do everything in-between.

Morgan Burnett is Green Bay’s jack-of-all-trades. He’s also one of the most respected players in the locker room, yet one of their more under-appreciated players nationally"

He's 28 this season, his 29th birthday is the weekend of the Divisional Playoffs

Over the Cap has an article on WR performance, both pre and post contract signing. GB has 2 guys that are mentioned, one on each side of the ledger

Comparing Pre- and Post-Contract Numbers for Top WRs

https://overthecap.com/comparing-pre-post-contract-numbers-top-wrs

“…the Packers must be enjoying the elite production that they are getting from Nelson with his cap hits set to rise to $11 million and $12 million over 2017 and 2018. Their Super Bowl window is, in my opinion, very open and having #87 for Rodgers to throw to is a big part of that.”

“…To be fair to Cobb though, his range in the WR market features several players with either inconsistency, durability or age issues, so his contract isn’t severely out of place.”

Packers might have as much as $200 million to spend next year....cap will be about $180 million and they are currently sitting on about $21 million in rollover

Any in- season deals will change that real quick, but that's still a lot of cash available to spend compared to 2011, when the cap was "only" $ 120 million/team

That's some serious revenue growth for the league, going from an outlay of $ 3.84 billion to $ 5.76 Billion for the same number of players:  (2,016 including PS)

We can certainly afford to pay Davante 10Mil per until Jordy and Cobb's contract end and we can either lower their pay or let one or both go.

Yep .. they need to bite the bullet and pay the guy.  He has much more upside than Cobb, and Nelson has already signaled that he is down to his final few seasons.  We also don't really have anyone beyond those guys that can make a #1 or #2 type impact for us.  Adams has the potential to be a #1 in this offense.

GB has $152M salary cap commitments for 2018.  Might have around $45-50M to spend.

There will be teams with $80-100M+ available in cap space.
