I didn’t like the idea of him hitting the open market without having some sort of safety net. I think this tag will pay him something like $12m this year, barring any long term contract. IronMike84
This is really a nice compromise.
topwop1
Let's just hope that a team like the Browns don't offer him a ridiculous contract with all that cap space they have.
AZBearsFan
The best move for both parties IMO. Fuller can set his own price in FA and we can choose to match or not match. And if he doesn’t get another offer Fuller basically gets his 5th year option added back to his rookie deal with a 50% boost. A true win-win. The risk to Cleveland is that they could end up getting stuck with the deal should we choose not to match, which if they offer him like Josh Norman money we could reasonably do given what else is available in the CB market. Just because they have the money doesn’t mean they should spend it unwisely. If they’re paying top of the league money they’d probably just target the top CB in FA instead (Johnson, IMO). Superman(DH23)
This is a really smart move, let other teams set the market, starts negotiations at $12m instead of 15. Gives you another year to evaluate him. And for Kyle, it gives him another year to show that he belongs in the group getting 13, 14m per
TankWilliams
Glad they did this, hope they give him a contract extension.
WindyCity
This is the right move for Fuller. The Bears have the cap room to not get bullied off of Fuller and now they guarantee themselves his services.
Rogerthat
I think the bears saw Josh Jackson's 40 time said 'oh ****' and tagged Fuller Tag is great and all but just pay the man
Damikeeeee
I'm glad we tagged him. I want to see him stay healthy all season before I backed up the Brinks drunk and this lets us do that.

Either Rap is talking out of both sides of his mouth about this thing or someone at Rotoworld is attributing an unveiled shot at the Bears to him. G08
@AZBearsFan I saw that, very lazy take by them. Someone on twitter was saying the same thing and Adam Jahns took him to task
