I think it's 'cause we want the better player, and BG is unquestionably better than Curry.
DeJack_10
D Line get richer. Like the move, but I agree with Ian. We do not want his antics to follow him here. We already have one DE wanting a new contract.
Kiltman
Bennett is definitely not quiet, but he'll fit in well here and in that lockerroom. Biggest thing is if he'll be fine rotating the way we do

I don't even think this can be close.| Only reason I'm not completely in love with this move is because i think Bennett is a bit of an a-hole. No doubt, I feel the same. Bennett is a terrible person but he is a very good football player.

WeaponX
I always wondered what the deal was with Bennett's tiny shoulder pads until last season. They're kicker shoulder pads. This is why: Quote “I just like the smaller ones because it makes sure I use my hands and makes it so I can stretch my arms out all of the way,” Bennett said. “It helps pass rushers, but I don’t think it really matters too much because I know how to use my hands. It makes me make sure I use my hands and not throw my shoulder in there.” https://www.sbnation.com/2017/1/7/14198726/michael-bennett-kicker-shoulder-pads-seahawks Even before this trade, I always thought Bennett was one of the scarier guys in the league. I think the only other person who scared me more was James Harrison. I mean that not necessarily in terms of being scared to face them on a team level. But more of on an individual level. Imagine having to block guys like Bennett and Harrison. They're mean, nasty, physical, and seem slightly crazy.

Terrible person how exactly? Is he a dog on the field? Yes, but he's also a guy loved by his teammates, and stands up and speaks his mind for social transgressions, don't see how that makes him a bad guy. They might not know the whole story. They almost certainly don't know about the locker room dynamics in Seattle. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/philanthropy-and-protest-part-of-michael-bennetts-identity/ https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/03/09/seattle-seahawks-michael-bennet-donate-endorsements-charity https://thebennettfoundation.org/ https://seahawkswire.usatoday.com/2017/04/19/cliff-avril-michael-bennett-and-marshawn-lynch-give-back-in-haiti/ http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/nfl/seattle-seahawks/seahawks-insider-blog/article158508969.html This is not the profile of a terrible person. If someone thinks these are the actions of a terrible person, then I'm not too sure there's any point in further discussing his character.

Either way I like the move as long as he is not looking for a new contract. Keep d-line depth and let Barnett come along slowly and be ready to be fully unleashed in a year. Also like his ability to rush from the inside, will add another dimension.

Bennett: 931 defensive snaps. I think your point is a good one. Per snap, Graham was clearly much better.

But in essence, I've just always hated defensive stats w/o some sort of basis for # on snaps.
Danger
Brandon Graham - 666 snaps (64.6%) - (Though this may be including playoffs, whereas the numbers above don't include playoffs) Michael Bennett - 934 snaps (84.7%) - no playoffs
nlesthought
He should love the rotation, we probably are going to save a year or two of wear/tear on his body.
