Create the Big Board - 1st Round Rankings for Dallas - #3

With the Combine over, it is time for us to create the Dallas Cowboys Big Board. Jerry and Co. have been fired and you are our new GM. How many first round grades will we have?

Rules: Each poll will last roughly a day. In the event of a tie, the most posted selection will advance. Runoffs will be implemented at my discretion. Some options will list players, others will list positions. In the event of a position is selected, the following day will present the options for specifically that position.

Note. You cannot draft a player to trade. No one is willing to trade with you. Create your board.

Note 2 - Only 9 players will be listed at any given poll. So if you want to lobby to name someone specifically, please go ahead and mention that person. If not - use the positional option.

1. Quenton Nelson, OG, Notre Dame
2. Bradley Chubb, DE, NC State

I expect this is where we see a lot of people differ. I went with Roquand Smith, LB, Georgia.

Barkley is the 2nd best player in the draft behind Chubb.

You don't have Nelson as a top 2 player? Insanity.

Nelson isn't going to stop Chubb from hitting the QB. If Nelson played LT, and was equally dominant, the yes. Both are elite though. 

 

Barkley and Nelson are about the same in that they are hyper elite prospects at positions of lower value.  I like Barkley a lot. He reminds me of a young AP. Having to defend Zeke and Barkley, would be like Ingram/Kamara on steroids.

I would probably draft Nelson for the Cowboys over Barkley. But I don't believe in drafting strictly the BPA. And I know the Cowboys and most other's don't either.

 

So I would probably draft Chubb, Nelson, Barkley though my BB might read Chubb, Barkley, Nelson. Nelson would be the pick because he is 2nd BPA, 1st at his position, and at a position of need. Where as Barkley would be 1st BPA, 1st at his position, not at position of need.

 

But obviously there would be a discussion.
