He was a good RB for the Vikings...it's just unfortunate that he wasn't Marcus Allen. And I just looked him up...man, we must be getting old...he turns 60 in about a year and a half. I was pretty young back then, but knew you don't pass on the Heisman Trophy winning, nations top RB, for a scatback because we got turf in the dome. Bud and Jerry wanted Darrin as he was a better fit for their offense than Allen (and Gerald Riggs) as he was more of a receiving back than either of them...unfortunately, that ability didn't pay off in the 1987 NFCC. SteelKing728
I think this thread is more appropriate to post this in, but Cook was a good receiver out of the backfield in college, right? as many others stated, his drops could've just been first game jitters. he looked good in the preseason. vikesfan89
Thats my thinking. Or he was just thinking too much and wasn't focused on catching the ball
TENINCH
He was good in college. (elite if you compare him to Peterson)
wcblack34
It's looking like the Vikings got the better of the Bengals in the Cook/Mixon trade so far. However, I still expect this one to end up closer than it is right now.

Mixon won't take over the backfield until Hill and/or Bernard get hurt.

We saw our rookies pay a considerable amount of snaps in 2014 and 2015.

It's always fun reading things by people who only look at a stat line or the end results without watching a player. Stevie Wonder could see that Cook was an explosive football player. He was in the flow of the game, he was comfortable with what he was doing.” http://www.1500espn.com/vikings-2/2017/09/will-vikings-use-latavius-murray-vs-pittsburgh/
SteelKing728
Cook topped out at 20.45 miles per hour on one run and had another at 19.98 miles per hour, according to Randall Liu, the NFL’s Senior Director of Football Communications. http://scout.com/nfl/vikings/Article/Minnesota-Vikings-RB-Dalvin-Cook-was-really-fast-in-Week-1-but-i-107417481

Klomp
For a point of reference going into this week's game, Adrian Peterson ran for 66 yards (20 carries) in his second career game.
