Not a fan of the direction this offseason goes, particularly on defense. Thoughts:

Colvin and Dawson seem redundant to me. Colvin was mostly a slot corner in Jacksonville and Dawson profiles as a slot corner. I think $8 million would be enough to get Carrie back, who has proven he can play on regularly the outside.

I'm not a Davenport fan. I think he's a few years away from being a productive NFL edge rusher. His pad level is extremely high and he won't be able to bull rush with the same effectiveness in the NFL.

Even though I've advocated for the move before, I don't think Edwards makes for a good base down defensive tackle. His best year (rookie year) he was on the edge, and he's proven to be virtually ineffectual as a rusher when he's inside the tackles. The lack of talent in the middle would be a big concern for me.

Rounds 1-3 seem particularly weak based on my personal evaluations. I already addressed Davenport and Dawson, but Jones and Miller are players who rank much lower on my radar than the apparent consensus.

I agree, Edwards is best as a base end.

Been waiting for you to post so I can copy off your off-season $#'s

Not a fan of the draft or letting go of Bruce. No way a first rounder should be a back up imo. Too many young rbs I don't think we'll draft one early I like picking up Blount in fa tho.
