Rams defensive end Dominique Easley might have sustained a knockout blow to his playing career.

Having already suffered a pair of torn ACL injuries in college, Easley made it through 16 games (no starts) with the Rams in 2016, logging 3.5 sacks, 24 solo tackles and a pair of forced fumbles. It was by far his best year in the NFL after two seasons with the New England Patriots.

Haven't followed his professional career but he was damn good when he was on the field at UF - hate to see see a Gator go down and with a possible career ending injury

He was obviously depth, how good is LAs depth there? Is this a big deal?

They will be just fine. Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. Then you have Louis Trinca-Pasat who was in a similar situation when he tore his ACL and MCL last season... he was a stud at Iowa so if he can overcome his injuries from last season they will still have a great rotation.

Edit: Interestingly enough, this gives Donald that much more leverage in his holdout. It's urgent now.

Pretty sure he was the projected starter.

Pretty sure he was too. I have read many articles calling him an under-rated performer next to Donald poised to have a huge year.

Said all off-season that we can't count on Easley. Not surprised this is the outcome. We'll be fine. Smart, Westbrooks, or LTP will likely step in. If not, there are still some decent 3-4 DEs on the street. Wade is quite good at his job, and Brock and Donald will make it easier for the third DL to get the job done.
