Brit Pack
So is that 36m over four years as he still had a year left in his current deal? Averaging 9m a season? If that is so quite a fair deal.

That's surprisingly reasonable considering top corners are now going for 13m+
Duffman57
Yeah, Hayward definitely took the team friendly deal to stay. Will get to stay in a scheme that literally couldn't fit him better, and get his money. This is about as good a deal as we're going to get from a Chargers perspective. This was badly needed as Verrett and Williams were also FA's after the year. Would bet that if they keep the level of play up, one/both of those guys get good deals too. Do you think the market in terms of what teams are willing to pay for cbs is quite weak? there seems to a lot of options for cb needy teams and the draft seems particularly loaded. Sherman didnt cash in big either.

Soko
Great deal. Hayward has had elite production since signing with the Chargers. One of Verrett/Williams definitely gone by 2019, right?

Sherman didnt cash in big either. I'd expect it to be business as usual. There are options, but many teams have the money to match/exceed the recent deals for top CBs. Hayward's first contract with the Chargers was considered a bargain at the time. He said that another team offered more money, but wanted him to play in the slot. I suspect he's just the type to take less money for a better fit. Not sure about Sherman... that's an odd situation.
Xmad
Aside from the obvious, that's a really good deal. Wonder if the Chargers keep Verett around after this season.

Loved him coming out as a player, and he's a good corner, but if you can't stay on the field, you're not worth it
