the lone star
Just thought someone should ask this question. Why wouldn't a team just forfeit instead of playing to lose?
tom cody
That would be taking things to far I think. Again the league has to do something with tanking, I'm not sure what they can do about tanking.
Texasmade
Forfeiting games means forfeiting money, and people like their money.
TomRalph
Surely getting young players game time against NBA opposition is a huge pro and the second main reason (behind money) for teams to actually play the games...
MightyMouse07
Honestly one of the dumbest questions I've seen on this forum. 1. It would lead to massive ramifications for the team from the league. 2. It would lead to a lose of revenue. 3. You lose out on a chance to get experience for players. 4. Creates a terrible culture for the team. I could go on but I think those are enough.

Bennett is a headcase, but talent-wise, I like him better than Cook, Rodgers, and Quarless.

But it'd be interesting to see if a team would actually do it to close out their season. Like just one game. They obviously wouldn't, but I guess it's technically an option. But in the past, there were teams who lost money every year. However, you'd think that sales revenues and lease payments from vendors would outweigh daily operating costs. Have the teams in the lottery play in a bracket, where the winner gets the first overall pick in the draft. Or maybe just make the draft lottery even more volatile than it's going to be soon.
