Allen Robinson agrees to sign with Bears

As predicted, Calvin Ridley is already dropping out from #8, citing Robinson as the reason. Not that we've thought Ridley would go at #8 even before the AR signing.

Looks like everybody is on the Edmunds to the Bears train in their mocks now.

Either Edmunds or Quentin Nelson seem to be the two consistently mocked.  I'd be happy with either.

I really think we need to consider the edge rushers more at 8, specifically Davenport and Landry. Leonard Floyd was largely looked at as a top 15 guy and went 9th, and most have Landry and Davenport ranked similarly. I could see the same with Landry and/or Davenport. Both have gigantic upside and immediate game changing potential even if their 2018 role is not necessarily beyond a rush specialist. Landry coming off of his healthy 2016 season was seen as a top 10 type guy and one of the top senior D prospect overall before playing hurt much of this year and seemed at the combine to be pretty fluid in space too. Davenport is a different kind of player with more bust potential IMO but I think his upside is DeMarcus Ware-like. Neither of those guys makes it to 39, and I think the drop off after them and Arden Key is pretty significant.

Pace has a tendency to key into players who he loves and do what he can to get them.  He's traded up with his first pick the last two seasons.  I would not be surprised at all to see him try to move up a couple spots for Chubb if he slides slightly due to the QB's at the top of the draft.

Landry i think you can plug in as a starter immediately.  Davenport i would see more the aldon smith route of pass rush specialist as a rookie.  I really need to sit down and watch more of both but i really like what i have seen so far.

Not that Mike Golic is the guru of NFL gurus, but on Golic and Wingo this morning he said Robinson to the Bears was the best FA signing, even over Cousins, etc. Cited Robinsons good seasons. Golic seems to usually be a blue collar evaluator so I think its a good sign

I don’t think Pace has the currency to move up this year. He’s out a 3rd already, and he doesn’t have enough depth to move a player without creating a deficit at that player’s position.

Right. He'd have to base a trade on a 2019 pick, which can be a dangerous habit to keep wagering future picks.
