candyman93
Justin is the best QB in school history. Our running-backs suck though. Need Trey Sermon to step up.

NateDawg
Tbh if PSU isn’t good, with the Oregon game getting nixed, could be the most pedestrian OSU schedule I can remember up until a potential conference title game.

That’s perfectly fine. 8-0 tOSU easily makes the playoffs

Need Trey Sermon to step up. I think he will end up being. I think Smith still holds onto it at the moment but fields should surpass him. I just think it might take a game or two to get the running game going. Hopefully it opens up next week Edited October 24, 2020 by buno67
buno67
Fields was throwing some dimes all over the field. I think he could def push for QB1. I think he was looking better with his throws than he was last year. Thats gotta be huge for Day and recruiting that he can show what he has done for Fields from 1st year to 2nd as starter for the program. Just makes you think what he could have done with Haskins but id glady trade that what if for Fields. Hell Miller looked good. I was surprised he was the one that came in 1st. I wonder if that will change from game to game. I wonder if they will have Miller back up for only 4 games and Stroud for only 4 games, so each of them can still redshirt unless their is an injury to Fields or to one of them. candyman93
Our backups are better than Indiana’s starting QB. Protect Justin and he will carve Penn State up.
buno67
Jaxon Smith-Njigba with the catch of the year in the first game. That catch and that body control was amazing!!!

I don’t think he has been a lead/head DC since his HS coaching days.

No redshirts this year as a year of eligibility is not used up this year.

NateDawg
Between Stroud, Miller, and Hoak, Miller was the last guy I expected to come out for reps behind Justin Fields. I’m cool with it, he was really good in high school, and early reports are that Stroud has been good also. So if Miller is developing decent, they will at least be a decent competition next spring after Fields is gone. Miller looked more athletic with his legs then o realized he was. Kyle McCord comes in in the winter also, so we will desperately miss Justin Fields but should have three talented arms in the room to compete. Raves
Maybe they're going to rotate who gets the garbage time snaps and Miller was just the first one to get their turn?
BobbyPhil1781
Does anyone know if Miller is beating Stroud or if something else was up? I really, really like Miller but I've only seen the highlight tapes. If he's beating Stroud, great. Our QB situation is beyond ideal if Fields were to get hurt. Great win today. Expected this from the offense but hope our D gets better. I really think we have the best WRs in the nation. JSN is going to be insanely good and my man crush on Wilson will only grow as the season goes on.

JSN is going to be insanely good and my man crush on Wilson will only grow as the season goes on. Devonta Smith is such a WR1 that I'd almost take him plus any companion WR's over any other group. Certainly pre-Waddle injury. You're right though, we have so many dudes that are legit out there, and that number will only grow as a lot of these dudes are freshmen or sophomores. This season is absolutely going to be a coming out party for Wilson. It's crazy, because Fields only incompletion today was on a dropped touchdown by Olave. Olave may or may not miss next week, but I think they will be fine out wide either way. As for backup QB, yeah, I could definitely see a different guy go out there first next time. Either way, I take it at least as a good sign, because most would have thought Stroud over Smith based on reviews. Maybe this was some sort of psychological confidence booster for Miller, or maybe he really is ahead in the battle, not sure. Good situation behind Fields though. Last season, Chugonov/Hoak was the 2/3. This season we have two talented first year kids and then Hoak probably the #4.
