Going to be a tough schedule this year and I'm honestly not too sure how I feel about this team.  I almost think there will be 2-3 losses and we'll be looking to next year as making a real run.

really?

What are the 2-3 loses?

I really dont see it. This is a very talented team. I prolly pessimistic about this season if Beck was still on staff but with Wilson, I have confidence. Wilson has a track record of developing players and creating great offensive schemes, Beck was basically the opposite. Its hard to be down when you return as much talent as they are. I can see tOSU being dominate because of the talent alone they have in the trenches this  season. I honestly feel like the Defensive Line can carry this team. Crazy part is after losing all that secondary talent to the draft, tOSU isnt rebuilding their secondary but just reloading it.

With the defense, tOSUs offense just needs to limit turnovers and they should be fine. Great thing is the offense is so talented that they dont have to play safe. I actually hope Wilson helps turn Barrett into a gun slinger. I feel like under Beck, Barrett played way to safe. Like he was so afraid of turning the ball over, that he would hold onto the ball too long. Like he made sure he either made sure the WR was wide open or that he had to just run. I want him to have a gun slinger type of mentality. He has to trust his WRs. Trust to the point that he will sling the ball around and it becomes the WR's job to make a play on the ball.

@buno67 it's probably me still worried about the offense being crap like it was with Beck.  If the offense stays the way it is, there will be 2-3 losses, but if it does make those improvements, then yeah I see us probably making the Playoffs, but I'm more being more pessimistic until I see otherwise.

If the offense stays the way it was, still don't see 2-3 loses. We should be seeing a very special defense from tOSU. The last time I saw tOSU have a front 7 this talented and returning this much talent had to be the '02 team. Scary part is this front 7 is a lot more athletic.

I also trust Wilson a lot. Fully trust him to coach up the QBs. He has the history to back it. I remember when Beck first came and their were questions, I connected his lack of QB development to maybe not having the most talented Kids. Well he couldn't do squat with JT and Cardale. I trust Wilson cause he had molded great QBs to Elite QBs at Oklahoma and turned low rated QB recruits into solid to top tier big10 QBs.

I like the potential of our front 7, o-line, runningbacks, and tight ends. I am NOT in love with our wide receivers or JT against elite teams.

I feel like vs elite teams, the schemes were horrible, specially when Beck was the OC. Never felt like his schemes were truly great. It was more like "well it worked against this team, so it should work against them".

You look at Wilson, I know at Ind. he knew how to attack teams. His teams always seemed to find a way to put a scare into tOSU and others. For awhile Ind. was labeled as trap games because of that. I want to see him take that same mindset but evolve it to another level when he has the best talent in the nation at his finger tips.

I think that's where most of us are having issues Buno.  Sure he did it at Indiana, but we still have to see him do it here.  The last what 2 years we've seen underperformance from both the QB and WR positions and that hurts the running game and if you can't score against good teams, you can't win, and I think that's where there is a lot of worry.  I mean our defense last year did a lot of scoring for us and we can't exactly expect that to repeat with all of them in the NFL now.

Well he did great things at Indiana and Oklahoma. He has a pretty well developed track record unlike Beck when he got here

Malik Hookers brother Marcus committed. He's only a 3 star, but I like recruiting families here and establishing legacies.

Quote
How loaded is Ohio State's 2018 class so far? Their lowest ranked commit, 3-star Marcus Hooker, would be the highest ranked for 4 B1G teams

I think at the moment he is only a 3 star but you know being offered by tOSU should bump him up to a 4. Its also not like they offered him just because he is Hooker's brother. Reading about this situation early today on 11Warriors and they talked about he earned the offer after having a good outing at FNL I believe. Hopefully he is as good as his brother and players at least 2 years for the good guys
