The 2018 Kirk Cousins Megathread

NFL Network Up to the Minute host Andrew Siciliano: “You absolutely got better. I mean, you got the jewel of the free-agent market. Now, look – we know that sometimes free agency can be fool’s gold, but I don’t think that this is in any way the case. You went out and got the quarterback that everybody else wanted. The Cardinals wanted him. The Broncos wanted him. The Jets wanted him – maybe varying degrees of interest, but the Jets certainly did, and they were in big from what we all understand.”

Pretty good class but this is the 2012 class. Two SB winners and two others (Luck and Cousins) who have the ability but haven't had a good team around them.

I can’t believe that the Colts wasted, and ruined Andrew Luck.

A more incompetent organization than Cleveland, if you ask me.

Maybe in terms of wasting the assets they’ve lucked into (pardon the pun) with Manning and Luck, but in no way are they overall less competent than Cleveland.

At least Cleveland tried to change things. Irsay kept Grigson around foreverrrr. Now they seem to have some decent personnel guys there, but man was Grigson horrible. Irsay doesn't seem like a guy that people want to be around either.

And yet, the team is still wildly more competitive than the Browns; which is the goal after all.

Maybe the pendulum starts to swing the other way, but the Browns have done absolutely nothing in the near 20 years they've been a franchise again.  The Colts don't come close to that level of ineptitude.  Even Grigson could have potentially done more with the treasure trove of picks and cap space the Browns have had in the last decade.

Well anyone "could have potentially done more". The Colts lucked into picking 1st overall twice when there was generational type QB's. They have had some truly horrible rosters. Is it more inept to have a Franchise QB and not be able to capitalize on it or not have a franchise QB?

For the record, I don't think the Colts are more inept than the Browns. The amount of 1st round picks that the Browns have had that didn't even make it through their rookie contract with the team is staggering. However, I don't think excusing the Colts terrible roster because they don't have as much draft capital or cap space makes a lot of sense.
