All 32 teams experience this phenomenon of the young developmental QB being their savior. Well, not all 32 since some of them have an elite QB already but it will happen with all 32 teams at some point when they do not have an elite QB. Even the most hated Green Bay Packers will one day not have an elite QB. I still have fond memories of the Packers before Favre. It was glorious and one they they will be restored to their rightful place. Do you remember the gnashing of teeth when the Vikings let Tyler Thigpen get away? Internet messageboard fans were certain that the Vikings would rue the day they let him get away. Similarly, fans now expect the Vikings to rue the day they let Sloter get away. Will the ruing be stronger with Sloter than Thigpen? I don't know but I doubt it,

If they don’t turn this thing around in the next month, may as well throw Mannion out there. Money. The only reason is money.

Howler
Cousins has gotten progressively worse under Stefanski. At least, he looked good on occasion with DeFilippo (See rams game last year).
twslhs20
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/10/nfl-vikings-kirk-cousins-offense-problems This article highlights how bad he is at holding onto the ball and his unwillingness to throw intermediate routes. Stats don't lie. If this continues it won't matter if we make the payoffs. Better completion will destroy us. SteelKing728
So Cousins and Spielman are to blame and we have 28 games until that marriage is over. Fun stuff....

The Vikings are having a hard time displacing second-level defenders and Cousins hasn’t been willing to throw into tight windows. As a result, Minnesota’s intermediate passing game has been non-existent. Maybe because he doesn't want the entire city of Minnesota to string him up? Take away the guy's confidence and this is the product. Edited October 3, 2019 by Howler

He deserves all the criticism heading his direction until he proves his doubters wrong. As of now, he doesn’t have the ability to play good football when the intensity of the game increases. It helps to be lucky but they’ve dominated now for two decades. Let’s face it, luck hasn’t been on the Vikings side. You want to talk about bad luck? First time in forever Bears get the chance to take a franchise QB in 2017 and they select Trubisky 8 spots ahead of Mahomes. If Bears drafted Mahomes they'd be arguably the best team in the NFL right now but instead the franchise is left praying and hoping that Trubisky turns into something serviceable during this Super Bowl caliber defense window.... but let me tell you expectations are really low and rightfully so. vikingsrule
I’m sure it’s a hard week for Cousins, seems both of his top receivers are trying to out diva each other for the ball. Cousins oddly apologized to one of them and the other isn’t talking/wants out. It’s been a fascinating week. Seems like it’s going to be a long season. Cousins should just pay their bonus money due to his own ineptitude as a QB. Problem solved. Edited October 3, 2019 by vikingsrule
