That people pronounce it Chan because they don't understand how phonetics work? Or that it's actually "Jun" but no one knows that? Discuss. We could write a freakin' book about how horribly PL commentators screw up the pronunciation of foreign (even Western European) names. I'm really surprised it hasn't resulted in more memes. drd23 Posted March 24, 2018 Share Posted March 24, 2018 The cedilla (the c with a tail) is pronounced as a "ch" sound in Turkish, so I can see how its possible for that mistake to be made. OMG that was horrendous too. The funniest thing, living with a Polish person I know how to pronounce their names properly and the commentators fail miserably.
