saintsfan
Just got a notification on my phone that Tom Benson has finally passed at the age of 90. I met him once when I was on the field before a game and he showed me the time of day. He will be missed!
Dome
He’s been in bad health for about a decade. rIP Tom!
whodatOL
Rest in Peace Mr. Benson! As a person from far away I can't even imagine how much you've done for the City of New Orleans and the Saints and Pelicans!

jcvoodoo
Wouldn't it be such a greeat tribute if the Saints' players ALL took out umbrelllas and did the Benson Boogie after the first win? I think it would...

I hope Gayle continues the trend of being a hands off owner. Tom was a great businessman, but he's always let people that know football (or perceived to know lol) run the football side. NS922
Despite the controversies, he still managed to turn this franchise into a successful one. He did a great job creating the Pelicans, too. And he always seemed like a rather friendly old guy.

Spartica4Real
I'm pretty sure everyone saw this coming for a while, so the sad/happy (depending on your viewpoint) reality is that makes it a lot easier to deal with. Still, we lost a good owner and what seemed like a good man. Thank you for keeping the Saints in NOLA (both when he bought the team and eventually after Katrina) and for building it into a top franchise in the NFL like it is today. RIP Mr B. Now to win SB 53 for him.
