Defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson is in Minnesota, so there is a chance he won’t return to the Seahawks. The Seahawks want to keep him but not at what he reportedly is asking.

Seattle has offered Richardson a deal worth $11 million a year, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports, but Richardson wants $15 million a season.

A locked thread in the news forum wasn't enough for you?

no, it wasn't. why not discuss it here specifically? why not let people who browse this forum for only a few minutes a day know the main news stories that are going on by seeing headlines, instead of having to go through 40 pages of general discussion?

that enough for you?

Agree.

It's a big enough deal to warrant its own discussion.

Signing a 9th string punter would be good for the news section.

Rumor/Speculation threads are not allowed in NFL News. Here, they are.

aargh, who trains mods these days around here...? rumors have always been allowed in the NFL News forum, they just have to have a credible source:

Guidelines for starting a new NFL News topic:

  • Create a subject title that accurately describes the topic. Titles like ‘Wow, big trade’ or ‘He got cut’ won’t help anyone and will lead to duplicates.
  •  Always post a link to your source.
  • Only post rumors where you can link to a reputable source. Don’t post rumors you heard on the radio or from your friend or that you made up.

Richardson made $8.069 million last season, so it would take quite a commitment for the Vikings to land him. The versatile Richardson also can play defensive end.

Tom Johnson started last year at three-technique defensive tackle but might leave the Vikings. Oakland and Buffalo have inquired about him.The Vikings would like to re-sign Stephen but he might be better suited to continue in a reserve role.

The Saints aren’t the only team that Ndamukong Suh will visit. The free agent defensive tackle also will travel to Tennessee, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports, and he could have more visits coming, too. Suh was the big catch in free agency three years ago, making $60 million guaranteed from the Dolphins. Miami released him Wednesday because of his $26.2 million cap number for 2018.

if Seattle can't afford Richardson, how could they be contemplating signing Suh? will Seattle fight harder for Sheldon now, once they figure out signing Suh is a pipe dream?
