In terms of character, I think Zimmer May consider this attempt to be pretty high football character. Also a good reminder that Jarius is just clutch when it comes to third down and more. Currently, they have $27 million in cap room according to OverTheCap. If they do find more money, the Seahawks could find themselves on the outside looking in on their Pro Bowl caliber defensive tackle. They're currently hovering around $20 million in cap while they may be looking to shed salary with an Earl Thomas trade. Freeing up his $8.5 million could help them up their offer on Richardson but the two situations don't appear to be linked in any meaningful way. The Seahawks are just exploring all their options; so it's not necessarily a race to see who can meet Richardson's demands first.
