I'd have to imagine that the NFL would view that as circumvention of the cap, and probably void the original deal.  Just my $0.02 on it though.

Depends when they decide to 'extend' him, but you are probably correct.

Doesn't really matter. All we'd have to do is verbally agree with other UFAs and wait until they make it official. We now know we have that cap space still and so do other UFAs.

True. But still sucks the news got out early. Could’ve handicapped us more.

that said, I’m sure they just wanted it done.
