I'm talking ability, not numbers. What you see in the game, not on the box score. It's a different level of respect.

Those honors go far beyond boxscore numbers, which really aren’t eye popping.

Getting those honors after two years of starting is an acknowledgment of his abilities, and respect.

I call 8th in receptions and 5th in yards pretty eye-popping

Then I’d say your standards are pretty low.

Plus, players who finished ahead of him in those categories didn’t receive those same honors. If it were about stats, why weren’t they given the same respect?

when you consider he was sharing targets with another really good receiver in diggs it is more impressive.

thielen had his most targets (13 and 12) in the two games that diggs missed. if he went the whole season as the clear WR1 he would be up there with the league leaders in targets, would've broken 100 receptions and probably gotten around 1400 yards.

You can’t try to rewrite history to fit an argument. We’ll never know what Thielen’s stats would have been without Diggs on the other side. Diggs may have taken targets away from Thielen, but he also took coverages away from Thielen, making things easier for him to get open.

Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, who has been a major disappointment since being taken by the Vikings with the 23rd pick in the first round of the 2016 draft, saw regular work with the first team during Organized Team Activities and talked about how he’s changed his offseason routine. This comes after Treadwell had one reception in nine games as a rookie and then had 20 in 16 games and seven starts last season.

The former Mississippi star told the Star Tribune that he worked in Texas this offseason with personal trainer David Robinson, who helped Treadwell prepare for the 2016 draft. Treadwell also said he is doing more work with a nutritionist, as well as massage and acupuncture specialists.

Treadwell: “Coming in, typically I didn’t have a trainer, I just worked hard and did different drills. Going into Year 3, I have a better team around me. There’s lots of different things I’ve done better and learned over the years I’ve been in the league.”

Since his personal trainer is David Robinson, should we start calling Laquon "Petty Officer" Treadwell?  He's only a petty officer because he's going to have to work his way up the ranks to be Vice Admiral Treadwell.

Hopefully this is the year Treaddy realizes that it's do or die for his career. I saw the articles about him being too hard on himself which can certainly hamper everybody from NFL receivers to the fry cook at McDonald's.

Hoping he just shows up and plays football.

As a former fry cook at McDonald's, I can vouch for this. xD

I would love to see Treadwell really capitalize on all this talent I've heard so much about. There are so many hot prospects in this league who just fade away and are trivia questions five years later. I don't want to see that happen to him.

Wouldn’t consider a 25 year old a prime practice squad player, but, as Steve knows, anything is possible.

I wouldn't consider these normal circumstances though. He's coming from the CFL, not college. And I just don't view him as likely to be worse than 7 or 8 WRs on the current roster (we've had at least one WR on the initial practice squad going back to at least 2012).
