I just took a look at our 2017 end of season 53 man roster and 5 of the DBs are now unemployed (not even in Practice Squads). I don't know what's the usual amount of players that go from the 53 to unemployed each season, but we seem to have an awful lot (I counted 15).

Speaking of which, Marwin Evans is still available. I guess we're not really interested though since we cut him from the PS.

We're probably stuck with Kentrell at S until King is back, but then Tramon absolutely needs to start getting reps there. As Brice has shown, instincts play back there way more than speed. Also Tramon may not be big but I trust him far more than Brice to bring a guy to the ground. The 3 young guns are clearly our best CBs, Brice and House clealry our weak points. I still have high hopes for Brice as a specialist though, guy plays the run and pass in front of him like a demon, but he's a freaking trainwreck deep and his tackling has been attrocious since week 1.

McCarthy doubled down on Brice today .. said he's his starter and that you have to look at the whole body of work this offseason til now.  I wonder if McCarthy will only get 6 carries (42 yds)  for Aaron Jones next week.  If so he should be shown the door.

You don't think the fact that we were busy getting our ***** kicked may not have factored into Jones's carries? He led the damn team in carries.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with Jones' usage given the game script and situation we found ourselves in.

Especially so given the lip service paid to Williams and Montgomery.

I know many viewed my criticism of HHCD as over the top.  I think we can all agree that he has the physical tools to be a top 10 safety.  But his give a damn is, and has been busted.  He shuffles instead of backpedaling.  He's the last to swarm to the ball - especially when he thinks someone else has it.  He takes ****ty *** angles and rarely takes on a block.  

Brice's struggles have been more of a surprise.  Teams are going to keep picking on him until he proves beyond a doubt that he can track a ball and be in the right spot.

Of course he did. He's been singing his praises all off-season. He'd look like a fool now if he reversed course so don't expect it.

Nah.  Pettine has 11 guys on the field that actually know the play before the snap of the ball.  This is the first year in a very long time that we're actually able to evaluate players based off of their ability to run a competent defense.  Pettine isn't perfect, but the defense has at the very least shown the ability to adjust to what is being thrown at it - and to do so without a semblance of a pass rush is honestly impressive.  Imagine if Pettine had guys on the edge that could win a 1 on 1?  

Capers had Clay Matthews and Nick Perry last year as well.  Can't say the same about Pettine this year.

Nah, Capers was a dud too. I think if anything, we are seeing that our problems run deeper than our coordinators. This team through and through is a Mike McCarthy team and that isn't a compliment. Constantly unprepared, built to live or die on the heroics of Aaron Rodgers. When he plays, not good, but like a God, we win. Otherwise, we don't win much. 

I'll say the same thing I said when it was announced that MM was coming back this year...he either gets GB to the NFCCG or he's gone. Not interested in excuses or anything else. He's had his time, it's been way too long as it is, but whatever, send him home after this season.

I dont buy into this meme - that MM wont make changes.
If there was a better option than Brice on the roster - he'd talk to Pettine about using him.
