But, at the end of the day Doug is the one calling the plays. We'll have to see how the Groh does in his new role, but like Reich it will be hard to quantify since he won't be calling plays. Pederson speaks highly of him though which is good enough for me. Press Taylor who is the new QB coach was originally an offensive control assistant on Chip Kelly's staff. Pederson obviously thought highly enough of him to keep on his staff. He's pretty young at 30 years old, but that's about the same age as DeFilippo was when he got his first QB coach gig in the NFL. Our former offensive coordinator has spoken glowingly of him. Quote “Press is a stud. Press is a rising star,” Reich said. “He’s got a really brilliant mind for the game. And he’s a great worker. Press would always be welcome on my staff anytime.” Kind of reminds me of things I read that people say about DeFilippo after we hired him after his stint with the Browns.
