Any GM hired by this organization will be a Gruden puppet. I'll stick with Reggie over that, thanks. Even if they don't get on, and even if he's mostly overruled by Jon, at least it should give some level of evaluation critique.

Well if that puppet can at least evaluate talent it would be an upgrade over Reggie. Reggie can't seem to hit on really any position in the draft

Anyone else ever sit and wonder what could have been had we just held onto Coach Flip?

Would have been nice. Every time the camera pans to the sideline and you see the Raiders coaches (Tom Cable mostly) I cant help but to cringe.

When was the last time we as fans started a season and did not know that there was a coach on the sidelines that was going to fail no matter what?  Why is it that the team can not see it if it is painfully obvious to us?

It’s just sad and scary. Hope it turns around soon sooner than later because if it is a 5 year plan we are in some painful times

was Gruden really wrong this team wasn't good and needed to be rebuilt? Look who he shipped out

QB: Cook- practice league player, EJ Manuel out of the league

RB: left alone

FB: Olawale- in the league, Gruden looking for a run blocker at that spot.. meh Gruden even got a late pick for him

WR: Crabtree is no longer a number 1 and had attitude issues, Patterson looking good on Pats, too early to tell on Cooper but 1st rounder is nice.....

Te: Walford is now out of the league

T: Newhouse a career backup, Gruden wanted to try to develop a long term starter ... Alexander is out of the league

DE: Mario Edwards had 6 tackles on Giants, Mack was a big loss

DT: Autry got paid to be a rotation Dlineman, Ward a rotation player I'm not losing sleep over.. Latham is out of the league

LB: Bowman is out of the league, James out of league,  Irvin a head case , Aldon out of the league

CB: Amerson is out of the league, Carrie is an overpaid dime back, Sean Smith is out of the league

P: King is out of the league

One big loss, but look at how many guys were getting PT that aren't any good.. Gruden made good calls on most of these roster decisions....

Gruden wasn't wrong. It was just ill timed, it's been a general wreck, and organizational dysfunction still persists. Beginning with the Mack trade, and the bad optics of that when he went nuts his first game. This team went from competing early to imploding that last month. The competing stopped once Miller and Osemele got hurt. It's a very weak roster, always was. We can't survive losses of key players. Then Gruden started saying dumb stuff, making weird decisions that may or may not make sense (see Conley, Melvin, benching Irvin), other decisions that don't make sense (Cable, Martin, etc), traded Cooper, and it just kept snowballing.

But the idea of a rebuild isn't off base. This team lost it's window. After the 2014 draft, the window for this team revolved around the contributors and stars of the 2015-17 drafts. All you need to see why it went south is a good look at those, absent entirely of both contributors and of course stars. 2015 was key. Hit a great draft there and this playoff team maybe wins a playoff game. Kill the '16 draft after that and maybe we're competing for a SB. Get nothing whatsoever contributing from those 3, and the brief window fades slowly into the abyss.

We're not one of those teams that can reload and compete yearly. Those are predicated on true star QBs and organizational structure and stability. Teams like ours are lucky to have brief windows, and that window passed.

Well said, basically been exactly my thinking.

Ummmm. Soooo. Is Jordy Nelson actually retiring tomorrow?

It's being echoed by CBS Sports and S&B Today. Explains what Carr was upset about too. Reporter stated there was an unnamed player going around the lockerroom saying his goodbyes after the game. Have to assume it's Jordy.
