They got a very good team overall and a great chance to challenge for a Super Bowl especially with him. That being said I would not sleep on the Titans. Never underestimate the pull of money which the Titans have more of than any of the other known competitors for Suh. No state income tax is certainly nice. Also the Titans are a very good team in their own right and I believe will have a very strong defense to go along with what I predict will be finally a very good offense this season. Also I have nothing but respect for the Saints but how are they still in the running with like what 2 million in cap space from what I read? They would have to do some serious maneuvering. Sadly I do think he will pick the Rams in the end but the Titans are not out of it.

He's already better than Watt and doesn't have the health issues. Let me dream.... they don't seem to be playing this well so will be losing leverage pretty quickly. Let alone cap issues if they guarantee Suh a ton.

VY
1 hour ago, Titans fan 617 said: What are the taxes like in California Pretty high and with federal tax code changes for somebody in his tax bracket there are some serious ramifications (but maybe at that level it doesn't matter to him). If he was picking between LA and say Buffalo, I'd say it would be LA easily. But Nashville is definitely an "it" town right now so that is helpful. I live in CA and the taxes do suck, but the positives certainly outweigh that problem so I still think it's a a toss up. There are some complexities to taxes out of athletes' game checks given they play half the schedule on the road (and usually in a different state). So my guess is that's why most don't really put too much stock in it. Otherwise Tennessee, Texas, Florida, etc would always get the best free agents in any sport if it made that much of a difference. TitanUp44
All the networks are pushing for suh to the rams so hard. Charley casserly just said they have more cap space than us, am I missing something because as far as I know we have a pretty sizable chunk more than them? That's not at all how contracts work. $25M is actually a ton of money to sign a contract. Remember that SB is prorated over the length of the contract... so they can actually pay him $25M this year... and keep the cap hit under $10M. Most guaranteed money is during the first year (SB plus salary) and the 2nd year salary. 2 hours ago, Titans fan 617 said: What are the taxes like in California Over 13% for the highest bracket... that's in addition to anything they pay federally. Keep in mind that this only applies to salaries weekly bonuses for games played in California (they'll pay taxes in each state they play a game in). The Rams play in California at least 9 games in California (the 8 home games, and the SF away game). If Suh would get a $10M SB (after agent fees, etc)... he'll pay $1.3M in state income taxes in CA... he'd pay $0 in TN, TX, FL, etc. Salaries are a little different... but if he were to get, say $16M in salary ($1M per game), he'd pay that 13% on each game check played in CA, then whatever rates per game played in those states. You could imagine their taxes get pretty complicated, and they pay a pretty penny to a good accountant who can minimize their liabilities.

KingTitan
I think he will value the personal relationships he has on the Rams team along with the idea of playing beside Donald. I also feel like the Titans have a real chance...
