And even in the scenario where we decline the option and he only signs a minimum contract somewhere else, it still helps us in the comp pick formula because it'll offset an UFA we sign from another team. Yeah I don't think it is a bad idea I just don't think it will likely result in anything besides offsetting a similar contract that they signed. Also add in the fact that Alex Lewis could have been a RT option, but when Nico Siragusa was ruled out for the season, Lewis was pretty much locked in at LG. I'll admit injuries might have slowed Howard some last year, but he was as bad as it gets in pass blocking and cost this team big time with false starts and other penalties at bad times.
