1   Cleveland Browns: QB Sam Darnold, USC

I think this Saquan Barkley #1 talk is somewhat ludacris. The QB is the most important position on the field bar none, and the Browns stop ignoring the position with their first pick. In a really solid QB class, they get their choice of the class. Ultimately, they’ll choose who they feel most comfortable with based off scheme, personality fit, etc. I pick Darnold here as he has a strong combination of size, athleticism, arm talent, and poise.

2   New York Giants: RB Saquan Barkley, Penn State

Saquan is a rare talent, plain simple. Super athletic, pass catcher out of the backfield, and a humble kid that wants to win. The Giants are in a position to get the most out of Eli Manning towards the tail end of his career, and look to assemble a rockstar unit around him with a revamped OL, and adding Barkley to offensive talents like Beckham, Engram, and Shepard to assemble a fire unit that will hopefully laugh all over the sad Ben McAdoo days of the past.

3   New York Jets: QB Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma

The Jets traded up to grab their QB. Mayfield loves the stage and can handle the New York spotlight. An extremely energetic player with a good arm, lively feet, and an aggressive attitude. Above all when watching him seems to be his accuracy. He does a really good job to put the ball on the spot constantly.

4   Cleveland Browns: DE Bradley Chubb, NC State

Can’t ever have enough pass rushers. Chubb is a power play and was super productive for the Wolfpack. He may not fit the mold of an ultra athletic speed rusher, but he’s a solid prospect with a high floor. With a combination of Garrett and Chubb on the DL, the Browns have assembled a young core.

5   Denver Broncos: QB Josh Allen, Wyoming

The Broncos signed Case Keenum to start for the meantime, but they nail a really high ceiling talent with Josh Allen at pick 5. He has upper, upper echelon arm talent, and a massive frame. The thing that isn’t quite there yet is accuracy, as he is a bit erratic. That being said, the Broncos get Allen to come in and continue improving on his game. The signing of Keenum takes some of the pressure off for Allen to start right away which helps this pick too.

6   Indianapolis Colts: CB Denzel Ward, Ohio State

Ward absolutely tore up the NFL Combine with a 4.32 40 time and other tests that showed off his short area quickness. Of course, that’s simply validation of what we’ve already seen on tape. Undersized at 5 foot 10, but plays taller and is explosive on the field, reminding some of former Buckeye corner Chris Harris Jr.

7   Tampa Bay Buccaneers: S Minkah Fitzpatrick, Alabama

A versatile ballhawk safety who can also play some corner, Fitzpatrick is a really nice combination of need and value for the Bucs at seven. A really strong talent at Bama, an integral part of a fiery defense.

8   Chicago Bears: OG Quinton Nelson, Notre Dame

A real bluechip, can’t miss prospect. Nelson gets the nod here and could easily go higher if he played a more prominent position. Nelson will help road grade for da bears for years to come, and gives new coach Nagy a nice piece to help solidify his offensive structure

9   San Francisco 49ers: LB Tremaine Edmunds, Virginia Tech

Edmunds is a serious, high flying LB who can also do some work off the edge. Remember the 49er team that made the playoffs a few years back with great defensive players such as Patrick Willis, Justin Smith, etc.? Those are a thing of the past recently. Edmunds tries to channel those former players and get this defense back on track

10            Oakland Raiders: S Derwin James, Florida State

James just cracks the top ten with the Raiders selection. A fiery leader, and an amazing presence on the field, James is a nice combo of value and fit at this spot. He is a complete safety, but he is really at his best coming downfield and tackling. Gruden lands the Seminole safety here.

11. Miami Dolphins: QB Josh Rosen UCLA

It would be a shock if Rosen fell this far down the board. He is the best natural passer in this class. He doesn't have the strongest arm in the class but what he lacks in arm strength he makes up with his great footwork and natural poise and intelligence in the pocket. He has the ability to become one of the greats in the league. Miami looks to move on from Tannehill and take a QB to lead them in the years to come.

12. Buffalo Bills:  OL Isaiah Wynn Georgia

Yes the Bills need a QB however the pick up of AJ Mccarron should help them. If they don't trade up to get another QB they will take one in the later rounds.  They did lose two of their starters on the OL and Wynn will help bolster that line.. Isaiah Wynn is a beast. He is a smaller frame that can play any position on the line. With the amount that Buffalo likes to run the ball Isaiah will immediately make in impact on that line.

13. Washington Redskins: DT Vita Vea Washington

Washington finished dead last in rushing yards allowed per game last year. They need a run stopper to fill the gaps on that defensive line. Vita has a rare combination of size and quickness and has the ability to shed blockers and attack the line of scrimmage. He is still very raw but with a little bit of coaching he will become one of the stud defensive tackles in the league.

14. Green Bay Packers: CB Josh Jackson Iowa

The Packers desperately need help in their secondary. They did take a CB in the first round last year but they still need to upgrade. Hughes has the versatility to play inside or outside. He has good size and does well in press coverage. He has very quick feet and great ball awareness. Some question is character but Hughes is a great prospect and is ready to excel in the league from Day 1.

15. Arizona Cardinals: QB Lamar Jackson Louisville

The Cardinals just signed Sam Bradford to a two year deal. It is no secret that he is rarely on the field plagued with injuries. Arizona takes their future QB here. Jackson is a straight up playmaker who can use is speed and quickness to turn a broken play into a huge gain at any moment. He has some accuracy issues but that can be worked on. Some also think that his size will be an issue in the NFL, however that hasn't stopped anyone before. He is already being compared to Michael Vick in the way he throws and runs. This kid has major star potential!

16. Baltimore Ravens: WR Calvin Ridley Alabama

The Ravens just signed Michael Crabtree. That being said, they still need help on the offensive side of the ball. Their defensive was solid against the rush and the pass last season but they were never really able to generate much offense. Ridley will add a big time receiver to this team who is tall and quick and an exceptional route runner. He is the the playmaker that the Ravens have been in dire need of.

17. LA Chargers: LB Roquan Smith Georgia

The Chargers take a chance on a supreme talent. Smith is an undersized ILB but has great instincts and can cover sidleilne to sideline. He is able to recognize the play quickly and chase down any ball carrier. He is a rare talent that will make this Charger defense one of the best in the league.

18. Seattle Seahawks: OL Will Hernandez Texas El Paso

The Seahawks need to address their leaky offensive line. I feel like every time I watch a Seahawks game, I see Russell Wilson scrambling for his life. This needs to change if they want to be successful and make another Super bowl run. Hernandez is the best OL in UTEP history. He possesses a nice combination of athleticism, size, and balance. He can step in make a difference for this run down Seahawks OL.

19. Dallas Cowboys: DT Da'ron Payne Alabama

The Cowboys land a stud Run Stuffer who will immediately help this Defensive line. He has a natural ability to stop the run and clog the gaps. He needs more work on rushing the passer but that is a trait that he will develop more throughout the season. Look for this kid in the pro bowl some day.

20. Detroit Lions: DL Marcus Davenport Texas Sanantonio

The Lions need more depth on the defensive line. They placed a franchise tag on Ansah but still need another DE who will make plays on the other side this year and in the future. Davenport is arguably second at his position in his class with the most athleticism. He had a great senior bowl where he flashed is talent. He is very raw right now and will need some good coaching and mentorship. He will emerge as one of the great sack artists in the league

21. Cincinnati Bengals- CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville

Alexander has been rising up draft boards after an impressive showing at the combine.  The tape at Louisville shows that he has the size, speed, and intangibles to be an effective corner at the NFL level right away. The Bengals are at this spot in the draft due to acquiring Cordy Glenn and this negates the need to reach for an offensive lineman at this spot so they go for Alexander who is arguably the best player on the board with solid upside and a high floor.

22. Buffalo Bills- WR Christian Kirk, Texas A&M

After the AJ McCarron signing, the Bills feel that they can take two players who will contribute right away in Wynn and Kirk, with grabbing a quarterback later in the draft.  Kirk can play inside and outside, and will immediately become the most productive receiver on the Bills and give AJ a weapon he really needs. Kirk is not your traditional number one wide out but his ability to run routes is exceptional and will allow him to succeed in this league.

23. Los Angeles Rams- LB Rashaan Evans, Alabama

After trading captain and starting middle linebacker Ogletree to the Giants, Evans is an absolutely perfect fit who will slide right into the starting line up.  Evans will have Wade Phillips salivating with his ability to play all over the field and ability to stuff backs in the backfield and cover tight ends and running backs in the slot.  Evans quarterbacked a national championship-winning defense and will be a welcome addition to the contending Rams.

24. Carolina Panthers- TE Hayden Hurst, Tight End

Hurst was a walk on at South Carolina after being a former pro baseball player but that did not stop him from being the number one tight end in this class.  Hurts is what NFL teams look for in a tight end these days with his ability to essentially be an extra wide receiver with his excellent route running, hands, and speed.  Greg Olsen seems to be on the tail end of his career, and even though there is a big need at receiver for the Panthers, there is no one on the board right now worth this pick so Cam gets the future replacement for Olsen and a new toy to use right now.

25. Tennessee Titans- DE Harold Landry, Boston College

With Mike Vrabel coming on board, the Titans will be a defense oriented team and you can bet your bottom dollar that Vrabel will give a defensive player with his first pick.  Landry does not have the prototypical size as an edge rusher but this man has the skills and talent to be effective with the tools he has.  Landry did not have as great of a 2017 as he did in 2016 but with the proper coaching, he has the ability to record double-digit sacks in the NFL.

26. Atlanta Falcons- WR D.J. Moore, Maryland

The Falcons do not need a number one receiver with Julio Jones there but with the departure of Taylor Gabriel there is a big hole at wide out for the Falcons.  Moore has similar skills to Gabriel in the after the catch department with the ability to make defenders miss.  Moore does not project as a number one receiver but he has the potential to be an extremely effective as a number two on the high-powered Falcons offense.

27. New Orleans Saints- TE Dallas Goedert, South Dakota State

One of the biggest busts of the past few free agencies clearly has to be Colby Fleener. Almost everyone thought Fleener would come in and contribute like past tight ends Graham and Watson but that has not been the case. Goedert is a more traditional tight end then Hurst in that he can be effective as a blocker but that’s not all he can do, Goedert has the ability to stretch the field and make defenders miss. Goedert could be the missing piece on the offensive side of the ball, which puts the Saints offense to the next level.

28. Pittsburgh Steelers- LB Leighton Vander Esch, Boise State

It will be tempting to draft a quarterback or running back with the unknown futures of Roethlisberger and Bell, but the team is determined to make one more run with the stars they have and due to this they draft an impact player on defense.  With Shazier out next year and his career in jeopardy, Vander Esch can step right in and contribute on this defense. Vander Esch is not a pass rushing linebacker a la Bud Dupree but his ability to play over the field is enticing and will be good compliment to what the Steelers already have at linebacker.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars- WR Cortland Sutton, SMU

With the departure of Robinson and Hurns, the Jags have a glaring need for a true number one receiver.  I do believe Lee, Moncrief, Cole and Mickens will contribute but none of them has the size and ability that Sutton has.  If Sutton puts it all together, he has the potential to be the best wide receiver to come out of this class and a best friend of Blake Bortles for years to come.

30. Minnesota Vikings- OT Connor Williams, Texas

The Vikings are right on the cusp of being a super bowl contender with Kirk Cousins and a slew of playmakers and a stout defense.  They need to protect their fully guaranteed investment so they grab Williams who immediately improves this line immensely. Williams can be effective in the pass/run game and the only reason he falls this far is due to injury history but at this spot and with a team playing for now, Williams is worth the gamble.

31. New England Patriots- QB Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State

The Patriots were hoping Jackson fell this far to them in the draft but they grab the next quarterback on their board in Rudolph.  This team is in desperate need for a future quarterback with the trades of Jimmy G and Jacoby last year.  Rudolph feel far after his performance this year from where he was billed right at the beginning of the season but the tools and potential are still there.  With no pressure to start and the chance tog row under the greatest quarterback of all time this is perfect for both sides.

32. Philadelphia Eagles- TE, Mike Gesicki Penn State

I know that the Eagles have Ertz who is a top tight end in this league but with no mort Burton and Celek, there is a huge hole for the Eagles at this position and they grab an Ertz clone that will immediately contribute in two tight end sets.  I believe Gesciki will be the top tight end in this class after a few years and will help the Eagles in their quest to repeat.

You're right about the Packers needing CB help, and I like Jackson, but who's Hughes? O.o:D

Awful Bills draft. We: #1 do not have a great need for the OL since we just signed 2 starters from other teams. #2 If we did draft an O line that high it is a waste of all the draft picks and trades we made to try and get a QB at #12. Give us Vea, Payne, Smith, or Ridley. DL, LB, and WR are much greater priorities than an O lineman. That is why they met our needs much, much better than an O lineman. At 22 we can grab Rudolph. That is why I rated this draft awful.

He probably originally had it as Mike Hughes and switched it to Jackson without updating the explanation.
