Potential 2019 7 Round NFL draft, I update this almost weekly after the games are played so it changes a lot. Just put in the rounds for a general idea like I did last year, did also include compensatory picks identical to the number in last years draft indicated by a (*).

Next year's draft is definitely weaker than this year's draft.  Outside of the defensive line talent at the top I don't see a lot to like right now.

Yes in terms of elite talent, not many guys that are total stars from the ILB spot, OLB spot, OT spot, C spot etc.  Sure some could develop but what they have shown so far, there is a ways to go with a lot of the guys.  Even WR not many really standout just yet, and TE I think a lot have potential but most are just projections at this point.  Even corner, this years draft there are at least 14 pretty legit CBs out there, next year might be 5 or so.  A few have talent but still a long ways to go and develop.

Not a big fan of the QB class off my first look.

Yeah I agree, as it is now, sure someone could standout but of course if a team needs a QB you get them now for sure.  Oddly enough maybe Lamar Jackson should have came back to school, then there would arguably be no question he could have been a top draft choice.  Same could be said for Josh Allen if he falls, but doubt he will, Jackson might though.  I do expect Costello to take a big step this year, same with Lewerke and like I said Eason but that will not be till later.

Parris Campbell, WR, Ohio State

Damon Arnette, CB, Ohio State

Kelly Bryant is not a QB prospect, not yet in my book he still has to show some more things as a passer of course.  Collin Johnson I really liked last year but he has to take the next step and did not last year and will see if he can this up coming year.  I expected a lot more out of him last year that is for sure, will see if he can do it this year, same can be said for Juwan Johnson, Tyrie Cleveland.  As well as these guys who need to take that next step in Mecole Hardman, Marquez Callaway, Binjimen Victor, Seth Dawkins, Michael Pittman and Hakeem Butler etc.  Sills is a great college player, not completely sold on his next level ability just yet but yes could argue he should be included.  Also could argue is he even better than Hunter Renfrow.  As for Parris, he has a long ways to go as well, flashed a little last year but I also expected a lot more out of him and he has to be way more consistent.  And Arnette yes might be in the mix, but not sure just how elite he is yet or even if he is a early entry candidate.  Could argue he was one of the weak links in that secondary last year.

Penn State sent both starting CBs to the combine this year, and John Reid is better than both.  Just he sat out last year after a knee injury.

I like John Reid, I agree he is awesome and is arguably better than both starting CBs this year that they had.  Still coming off a major injury like that, will see if he is the same player or not athletically, so I will wait and see.

The QB class looks like hot garbage.

I like Drew Lock enough and he's far and away the best of those listed, but I don't see a first rounder with him on a consistent basis (though that Georgia game last year....)

Justin Herbert is a 5th rounder or less to me. I'd take Grier and Fitzgerald over him and I'm not high on either.

Never got the Stidham hype.

Patterson never excited me, but his supporting cast wasn't great.

I'm interested in how Thorson bounces back.

Overall, really really uninspiring.

Too low on DE Joe Jackson from Miami. He's a better pro prospect than Jaquon Johnson is in my opinion. I think Jackson could be a top 10 pick. Great overall traits and a really high ceiling.

This class has some monsters up front. Not much else. That being said, think of how many late risers happen every year due to people graduating or just getting better. It'll look better a year from now.

A name to watch: Toledo RB Shakif Seymour. He'll be a Junior next season and will finally get the entire backfield to himself. He's a powerful runningback with great hands that can pass block. I think he will be one of the nation's most productive RB's next season.

Considering all we have to go on is their soph tape and many of the best had to sit behind another pro prospect at schools like Alabama, Ohio St., Clemson, Georgia and USC, there is no chance that an accurate assessment can be made at this time.

A prospect like Denzel Ward, who is now rated the 4th or 5th best prospect in this year's draft, wasn't even a starter at Ohio St. as a soph and there are many more just like him.

To me I do not believe Jackson is even close to these top guys as true DE prospect.  To me Johnson is arguably the best athletic playmaking safety eligible for this draft, cannot say Jackson is the best playmaking DE in this draft, no way. Jackson has ability for sure but still has a ways to go, he is no where near Bosa, Gary or Ferrell in my book.  Sure could develop into a fine talent but his lack of power could hurt him lot.  Could argue even Zach Allen on BC is by far a better overall prospect at DE.  Sure maybe he could become that but what he has shown, I do not see it just yet.

Maybe but Denzel Ward played and flashed as a sophomore and was not a giant surprise this year as a prospect.  Most prospects if they can play, get plenty of time as FR and SOPH players.  Sure some will rise up but most are already known.  Last year in April I had many of the top prospects ranked, sure a ton did fall and some rise and a few join in but most are already out there if one pays attention to players not only eligible for the up coming draft.  I would be very surprised to see Alabama or Clemson have 1st round talents at CB that were just sitting in the wings waiting who are eligible for this 2019 Draft.  Sure they could get guys who are future 2020 or 2021 star corners but they both lost a lot especially Alabama at CB and DB in general.  Alabama has Thompson at safety and maybe Diggs as a potential CB but that is almost it for talented experience back there.

Collin Johnson WR from Texas is my ridiculously too early #1 WR for 2019.

Like I said before I was disappointed in his play last year, thought he should have done a lot more, will see.  AJ Brown is hard to beat as a early #1 WR, with his physical strength and speed.  Very promising player even with suspect and inconsistent QB play at times.  If he continues to improve he will be a fine WR prospect with impressive ball skills.
