Interesting picking NYJ over Seattle given the continuity at the QB position

It makes some sort of sense - Seattle is a run first team, and they always seem to aim for a balanced offense. NY will have no choice but to air it out on a weekly basis.

Considering it'c coming from Allbright, I'll LOL a little but understand to take it with a grain of salt. Throw in there that McCown was NOT their starter (RGIII) but ending up starting most of the games is a bit of a stretch.

It’s very possible the Jets will move on from Robby Anderson at some point before the season, which is why I think they want Pryor. He is vet competition/likely starter over Hansen in the event Robby is moved/suspended. Similar downfield threat that Robby is.

What’s really facscinating is that we still have interest in Hurns. He’s visiting today.

Well then you had better hope that you completely revamp your oline and finally find a running back, because as it stands right now, your team is simply not equipped to be a running team.

It's a good idea in principle though. It will be interesting to see how it plays out with a new offensive coordinator calling the plays.

Iwonder if Pryor finally got a multi-year deal.

The OLine doesn’t require much remodeling, just some reshuffling. Ifedi is dreadful at tackle and should be transitioning back to his more natural guard position this year to give us a big body on the interior. Add DJ Fluker to that and you have one of the larger and more physical guard combos in the league. George Fant was well on his way to becoming an impact LT for us last year prior to tearing his ACL in the preseason, so if we can plug him in at the RT spot our OLine will see marked improvements with only one new addition.

We’ll also be getting Chris Carson back, shedding Eddie Lacy/Thomas Rawls, and likely adding another back via the draft. Not to mention the tertiary pieces we’ve added in Ed Dickson and Jaron Brown, both of whom are proficient run blockers for their positions.

Anyone who believes we’ll be chucking it all over the yard isn’t paying attention to the intentions behind our moves.

I’m not questioning the SEA OL philosophy.  It’s more the game script with the changes on D.

I think the losses on defense are being overstated. We played a good portion of the season without Sherman, Avril, and Kam and still finished as a top 15 defense both by yards and points surrendered. We’re bringing back the two most important pieces, Bobby Wagner and Earl Thomas, and everything flows through their level of play.

A big reason why the defense was susceptible to 2nd half bludgeonings was because the offense couldn’t control the ball long enough to give them adequate rest, so the biggest improvement for the defense will be felt in the offenses ability to run the ball, cut the clock, and shorten the game.

Are they though? Yes NY will throw it alot but Seattle still was 6th in pass attempts last year.

No idea what SEA offered, but not like it would have been a lot less than 2M guaranteed.   Pryor clearly took NYJ with the McCown connection and the belief he can crack that rotation more than SEA's.   It will be interesting to see if he's right on that count.

I don't think that was by design, as @SoS pointed out. Maybe not by design for the Jets either, but I think Seattle has the components to make a go of it.
