Our RT spot was garbage. Probably the worst in the league. So it’s worth it. Plus we likely would have kept Watson if we didn’t get an alternative. That saves 4.5M. Which then makes this a 2.5M signing plus the 6th. It’s only likely a 1-year stopgap which normally for a team that isn’t a contender makes less sense. But Watson at RT could get our QB killed which no matter who it is doesn’t help is long term, so this really is a nobrainer move. I get why ARI did this they have moved Humphries to LT and Veldheer is too pricey to justify keeping him and he’s not getting a comp pick after this year. He’s contemplated retirement the last 2 offseasons so likely this is his last year. Getting any return even a 6th is a positive gain. Rare case where both teams’ reasoning fits equally. DirtyDez
I thought he checked out after contemplating retirement but guys can get adrenaline boosts with a change of scenery. Sounds reasonable for both sides.
SteelKing728
So Denver now doesn't have a 6th or 7th this year, right?

Correct - but we have 3.99 comp, SF’s 4th (Bibbs for 4.109 at last year’s draft) and ATL’s 5th (Sambrailo for 5.160 last year)and LA’s 5th (Talib for 5.163 this offseason). And all of our picks for Rd 1-5. So 9 picks left.
