pwny Posted August 5, 2017 Share Posted August 5, 2017 It looks like the starting LG position will come down to Patrick Omameh vs Tyler Shatley, as the team seems to view Cann and Watford as guards on the other side for the time being. It seems likely it's headed toward another year of revolving door mediocrity along parts of our line at least. Probably shuffling guys all around trying to make it work, especially as injuries factor in. Just waiting for someone to step up and take the job, but they can't because bad. We've got all this quantity, and not much quality it seems. They seem into Omameh i guess. Maybe he'll be surprisingly okay. That would be good news. I will never understand why Cann is being forced at RG when our LG situation sucks. If he is better at LG like some thing, why not put him there and let RG be a patchwork spot so at least one of those spots is better off than it is now? With a rookie LT in Cam you would think you would want as much consistency next to him as you could get. He's looked pretty darn solid so far for a rookie LT. RG is usually top 2-3 most important. That entire right side of the OL goes to complete garbage if you start Watford next to Parnell. If Cann is the best Guard they have, they kinda have to play him there. It’s not that they think Cann would be better at LG than RG, but that mediocre play is easiest to mask between a LT and a C.
