I thought the only thing it might affect would be a pitcher's grip for breaking balls. What it affects with breaking balls is it increases the effect of the spin. How a breaking ball breaks is basically that the raised seam in the ball vacates the air in the direction that it's spinning, and that small vacuum causes pressure on the ball to move it the other direction. So the more air you have, the more pressure, and the more break. I'm terrible at physics, so if anyone wants to explain this better they should. EDIT: Added the bolded. BayRaider
Oakland @ New York Wednesday is official. C'mon Melvin.. empty that bullpen. Use every damn reliever on our roster. I don't trust any of our starters on the road. They are all great at home and all hot garbage on the road. No middle ground folks.

BayRaider
Either Melvin will empty the bullpen or perhaps something like Fiers for 4 innings, Petit for 2 innings, Rodney for 1 inning, Blake for 2 innings. Let’s go A’s!!! Been 29 years since our last championship. Doesn’t help that this is one of the most competitive years in the AL ever and Red Sox, Yankees, Astros are all beasts.. and certainly can’t over look Cleveland. But the A’s are a solid baseball team and I’m pretty pumped for Wednesday. Good luck New York fans. Gonna be a very intense game! Edge of our seats all game no doubt.
