As for the rest of your mock I know we do need a RT but I dont know much about Crosby. It all depends who else is on the board. If any of the DT's slip (Hurst, Bryan, Via, Payne, Phillips) do we take an OT over them? I wouldn't take Crosby over Vea, Hurst, or Bryan. I'll probably end up having Crosby and Payne rated similarly but I consider offensive tackle a more pressing need. Phillips I wouldn't take before round 5 or 6. To me, Crosby and Jamarco Jones are the last safe starting tackles in this class before things begin to drop off quite a bit. Athletically, he's unspectacular but he plays with very high awareness. He never gets beat cleanly and he's very good at working up to the second level. He didn't give up one sack last season and surrendered very few pressures (7 total according to PFF). He actually reminds me a bit of Donald Penn.

With great accuracy as well. Hope we can grab him with one of our 5th round picks. I have read there are a few really good punting prospects this year. That could partly be why King was sent packing. If Phillips slips to the 5th or 6th he would be a steal. I have read comps to Kyle Williams. I agree that Phillips might not be the interior pass rusher this team is lacking but he looks like he could be a solid player who isn't sexy but is a lunch pail type DT. reddevil
No way Phillips lasts that long. I'd be very tempted to get him in the 2nd and certainly in the 3rd if we don't go Vea round 1. I think the comparison with Williams has been well documented and is apt. No frills 10 year starter. To borrow Rich7's first 2 rounds:: Ward, Crosby, Phillips would be close to my ideal first 3 rounds. Go skill positions for a couple of rounds, get a fast LB and then depth (and of course a punter). G
Honestly I've got no clue but currently this is how I see it... I struggle to see the appeal with Phillips. He has no pass rush moves and little push in the run game. Double teams easily move him off the ball. To me, he's a rotational 3-tech on run downs. NJ Raider
My Mock: 1.) Vea- have been back and forth on this guy throughout the process, but I’m all in at this point. Our new dL coach will turn him into a better pass rusher and he will make the guys around him better. 2.) Jamarco Jones- I think he could our lt of the future. 3.) Austin Pettis WR/KR Washington- What we look for in a WR. Runs precise routes, makes adjustments, has good hands, and will get up and fight for a ball. Offers return value as well. 4.) John Kelly RB Tennessee- Could mean the end for at least one of the smurfs. Runs tough, quick, and great receiver out of the backfield. 5.) Oren Burks LB Vandy- Good coverage LB that can play the run as well 5.) Holton Hill CB Texas- Some off the field stuff but good underrated corner. Spot in the draft where Reggie will roll the dice. 6.) Michael Dickson P Texas- Kings replacement. Dude has a boot. Rest of the draft: BPA. Maybe an edge guy, Tight end, dB, another ol. Hearing Gruden talk about how we will be implementing alot of bubble screens and RPOs, I think Christian Kirk would be perfect for this offense. I think he projects as a star in the slot and also a beast of a return man. I would not take him at #10, though. I think he's a lock to go in the twenties so we won't have another shot at him. I also like Sutton and Anthony Miller. The troubled kid from Florida is also intriguing. Could be a tyreke hill like gem for some team willing to roll the dice on him. SilverNBlackFan
Was watching Path to the Draft the other day and Daniel Jeremiah mentioned Taven Bryan as a potential surprise pick for us at #10. While it wouldn't be my ideal pick, I honestly wouldn't mind taking him over Vea. He fits more what we need.

I like all the guys you mentioned plus Cain for his routes, speed and polish, Coutee and Berrios as secondary targets in the slot that have some holes in their game but offer value late in the draft, Ateman as a redzone target with good hands and route proficient skill set (Westcoast fit). Cibasu interest me as a 7thrd or an UDFA that we may be able to use as an HB or receiving TE who can block and a split out is exotic formations. NickButera
I think I'm more excited about this years draft than ever. McKenzie had a knack for choosing "who?" guys. He'd surprise you ever year with players that he valued more than the rest of the league it seemed. With gruden having major input, I'm guessing we're going to draft more prospects with more accomplishments than before, more common sense picks.
