ttitansfan4life
We've done this before in the past. Just make madden ratings for your rosters for your team. I've always played madden with the mindset of.... 95> = Elite 90-94 = Great 85-89 = Good 80-84 = Above Average 75-79 = Average 71-74 = Below Average 70< = Bad/Young players who haven't done much yet(Not counting higher picks). Rookies are obviously different so rare them accordingly.... You don't have to use this but it's what I've always done. But I think it depends on what the scale encompasses. Brian Hoyer, is not an "average" starting quarterback if you were to throw out the rankings - he'd have to fall somewhere (if you want to do it as tier groupings) between what, 13-17 or so? I don't see that happening. But if the ranking number is against all quarterbacks in the league, sure, he's above average. So It depends on which way your grading. There's no way that Goodwin can be an 81. He cannot be considered "above average". I know that as a fanbase we love what we are hearing from camp, but the guy's career high in receptions for a season is 29, he had a total of 3 the prior 2 years before that. He hasn't shown a whole ton at this level at this point in time. Staley and Bowman is a reputation scoring to me - Bowman is not the same as he was pre-injury and Staley is coming off a very substandard season for him where he was probably an average left tackle. You could easily make an argument he's not a top ten left tackle any more. Robinson is an interesting one. I think that he's good, but the sample size is pretty small. Still, given that there is a bit of a sample size there, and the fact that nearly all the damage against him was done in 2 games last year and he was very, very good in all of the others, I probably am going to be right around this grade as well. Also interesting that you have Johnson with a higher grade than WIlliams. I'd actually have Williams with a much better grade than him. I'd probably be in the 77-78 range for him, and in the 69-70 range for Johnson. I'd probably have Armstead higher than you . He doesn't have much in the way of bulk stats, and the sample size is limited again, but on an efficiency basis, he's been scary good, so I'd be willing to put him as a good. For the most part I'm grading them based off of how I would rank them among their own positions. So Hoyer compared to the rest of the QB's in the league is about average. Goodwin I am a little high on but he was a good player last year for the Bills, as a receiver he's one thing but as an overall weapon it puts him higher, he's our #2 receiver pretty clearly right now and that puts him ahead of Kerley who I feel good about his grade. Bowman fully recovered from injury is an Elite player. I need to see with my own eyes that he's slowed down before i acknowledge that he's still not a top 5 ILB in this game. Staley is pretty much the same, only he doesnt have the injury history and I saw him play less than elite but he's still likely the best lineman in the division. Robinson by a lot of measures had a great season last year. His inexperience is why he isnt higher but he's on is way towards being a go to #1 corner, and I bet most people will rank a good #2 corner higher than I ranked Robinson. With Williams I'll admit I havent seen play much so idono I'm going off of what i've mostly read or barely seen, so you could be right there with how he's graded compared to others.
