Oh and as for Gallman.. He looked pretty good at times when the line gave him something to work with. He has good balance. My brother.seems to really like him (Still wants Barkley)

Either way whatever they decide, they honestly cannot go wrong. Draft Elis replacement, bring in SB for Eli, pick Chubb to boost an already good front 7, or even go Nelson (my brother is convinced they will trade back for Nelson, idk) somehow..there is no wrong decision for them there.

And still saw majority third down work, with Gallman getting most of the carries against the base front 7. Trust me...I live in NY and watch football every Sunday with an elder brother who is a long lived Giants fan. We watch with two TVs...his Giants on one and either Red Zone or Dallas on the other. Ive seen as much NYG football as Ive seen my own darn team :P (unfortunately)

Darkwa didnt carry the bulk, especially not early downs, and that line is one of the worst in football. Those are facts 100%

You are wrong. Darkwa led the team in carries by a large margin, and out carried Gallman in all but 3 games this year(Darkwa was inactive 1 of those games). So mathematically yes, he did carry the bulk. And we have TVs in Texas, so I don't need to to live in NYC. My best friend is also diseased with Giants fandom and we have two parties every year for the games.

Also you should remember how this debate started. Me pointing out that Darkwa got 4.4 behind that OL.  You said that Gallman was getting most of the carries and Darkwas' numbers were inflated due to him rushing on passing downs. Obviously I don't think that's accurate, but even of it was, a quick stats check will show you that Gallman too averaged 4.3 YPC.

So if Darkwa can do 4.4 and Gallman 4.3, why is Barkley useless behind the same OL? Oh wait, it's not the same anymore, because of FA. So why would Barkley be useless behind a slighty better OL, if Darkwa and Gallman were not?

Have they really improved this offseason?  I haven't been paying attention.  Thought they lost their center.

The Giants, under McAdoo, threw on the early downs more often than they ran it. And Darkwa is widely known as a third down specialist. Most of his productive carries were third down carries and he was able to make many of them count. Gallman was the early down guy. Darkwa got the starts because he was very effective as a receiver and protector.

And i never said anyone would be useless. But theres a reason they struggled to run the ball (24th in rushing if im not mistaken, or worse..at work cant look it up). They had trouble making space. Against a full front 7 they were overmatched. Bqrkley would indeed help. But it makes sense to think he would be less effective behind that line than if they were a better unit.

They lost an Pugh (guard) and another guy (the center), and brought in Solder. I dont consider it much of an upgrade, but they should at least protect Eli better with Solder at LT and Flowers moving strong side.

And I am in favor of them picking Barkley, btw. I just agreed with the poster who posed the question how effective he could truly be behind one of the worst run blocking units in football.

Gurley, considered one of the better runners going right now, struggled heavily his sophmore year when the Rams' run blocking became troublesome. While I do think SB is better than Gurley, it does make the reasoning logical to worry if SB will be what he is capable of being if he goes to a team incapable of giving him room to work.

All I'm saying is that Darkwa(who got 43.4% of the teams carries) averaged 4.4 YPC, and Gallman(who got 28.12% of the teams carries) averaged 4.3 YPC.

Together they made up 71.5% of the teams carries, and averaged 4.351 yards a tote.

Now they have Tom Brady's LT, and are moving Flowers to RT like he should have always been. So both OT spots get an upgrade. I think Barkley would be just fine.

You run between the tackles primarily. The only real problem.id have with them taking a runner is that it has them go all in on Eli and Webb in a year where they are in great position to get one of the best passers to come out in a long time.
