Green Bay?  Yes.  Granted.  Now grant me the fact that the GM at the time was a crap GM, thus it was a mistake, and that Lang's contract AT LEAST was VERY team-friendly, and that College did NOT re-sign with us.

I'll grant you that the GM at the time of signing Wahle and Rivera (and Johnson) was crap.

You concede to me that the NFL has at any one time, more than one GM who is considered "crap".

I'll concede that Lang's contract was VERY team friendly.

You concede that Sitton and Lang combined was a VERY large investment of money to the guard position in Green Bay.

I've already conceded that you were right, College did not re-sign with GB.

1. On Nelson being "Can't Miss," Chance Warmack, Jonathan Cooper.  Neither could miss.  Both missed.

2. First round guards, even when good, have a SIGNIFICANTLY lower percentage of receiving second contracts from the team that drafted them.

3. If a guard busts, you get nothing.  If a tackle busts, you try them at guard.  If a CB busts, even if a WR busts, they can still thrive on special teams.  See Patterson.

4. Interior offensive lines aren't nearly as important as other positions.  They aren't.

5. The entire history of the NFL draft proves this.  Teams don't draft interior offensive linemen high.  Even really good ones.  9 times out of 10, when they do, they regret it for one or more of the reasons above.

I'm not the only one who thinks this.  It's common knowledge to anyone who actually looks at it objectively.

Even Bleacher Report is intelligent enough to rank guard close to last in importance.

If there was a kicker who was being talked about as the best kicker prospect in the history of the game, would you use the 14th overall pick on him?

I'll bet u right now Nelson get more in his 2ND contract than LVE.

LVE will be a Shea McClellan.

Wasn't wahle paid franchise guard money.
