oldman9er
I'm in the middle of making a full 7 round draft... may never finish.. probably won't even post it. A realistic version of ideal for me would be something like : 13. Vita Vea, DL, Washington 44. Frank Ragnow, IOL, Arkansas 109. Nyheim Hines, RB/WR, N.C. State and then, figuring to add BPA at DB, EDGE, WR, TE.. something like that...

It is a possibility he makes it to the end of the 1st/early 2nd, but I really don't see how he makes it past Indy (twice), Chicago, Miami and Tampa in the 2nd. Value would be too high there IMO. Big change I'd like is the rd 2 RB. I don't know why exactly, but Chubb just doesn't give me the Chubb. He seems very Perine to me.. and I like the other RB options more. Otherwise, and assuming Skyler is worthy.. I like it.

Robinson and Reed were both similar players to Payne and both fell. A lot of teams have moved away from the 3-4 and NT isn’t a highly sought after position. He’s also not a stout pass rusher so you can’t put him at end in a 4-3. He doesn’t really have a defined position outside of the 3-4 so his value to the Redskins is much higher than other teams. Payne can play 3-4 DE/5-tech or NT in a 3-4 because of his combination of length, size and athleticism. In a 4-3 he plays NT so, yes, he does have a defined position in the 4-3 defense just like guys like Michael Brockers do. Payne is clearly scheme diverse, as are most DL.
