whitehops Posted August 26, 2018 Share Posted August 26, 2018 he started 13 games for the giants last season but fell down the depth chart this offseason. giants likely would've cut him as they didn't want to pay $2.9 mil to a backup/third stringer. he went undrafted in 2013 and played in the CFL for a bit. The new team takes it on. The only way around that would be if Jones agreed to a re-worked contract prior to the trade that turned part of his base into a signing bonus. Unless that information hasn't been released, the Giants free up the full amount of space and we take it on.
